    A UPS is not about keeping items running in power outages, but about protecting valuable electronics that could possibly be damaged from sudden loss of power (e.g. computers). It is to give you time to properly shut it down.

    Wow! That's what I was looking for, thanks. I live in a village where the power cuts happen randomly from time to time or during a rainstorms. For now I use a laptop so it's not a big problem but I'm planning to buy a PC and the power cuts were my top 1 concern. Thanks again that was really helpful.

    From the manual: Alarm setting: The audible alarm can be turned Off or On by double click the POWER button. The default setting is for the Alarm On. To turn the Alarm Off, double click the button. You will hear two short beeps when the Alarm is turned off. To turn the Alarm back On, double click the button. You will hear a single short beep when the Alarm is turned on. *When the Alarm is turned Off, there will be no audible notifi- cation when the UPS reaches a low battery state.

    These things only last a few minutes as a general rule (depends on the usage) so they are good for powering off gracefully (saving work) not to continue working (or playing). They're also good if you're in a location with power bleeps (like flicking lights) due to a poor power grid.

    It doesn't deliver what they say. You did not verify and did not show how long your devices staied on. Three years ago I bought a first one that cost me over $350 just to juce up my Router and my personal cloud and could not even give me one hour when they pretended hours with more than my two devices. I thought the battery was calcified so I went for an exainge but got the same resulte. So, if a $350 battery backup can't do the job for only two devices that consume so little, It is not worth it to buy them unless you are willing to put thousands of dollars for having few more devices to run for a short period of time. I would advise to modify in the way that you can replace the original battery for a bigger one. And I don't know where you are located, but here, we have power outage once and a while. It happen when bad wheater mostely like period of ice or maybe a tired transfo down the street devide that was ennough.

    Can I assume the battery charges when it's plugged in either way? As in, the "battery power" button needs to be lit only to prevent the outages, and in advance? Not to charge the battery?

    How long does the battery last?

    • @outa7192
      @outa7192 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the amount of power the components plugged into the battery needs. LIke a computer on idle will use less watts than a computer that is gaming. So doing so wouldn't show anything as it depends on workloads.

    this is a really useless supply that only lasts 5 mins or so. just enough time for you to save and shut down! it is NOT an actual backup power supply at all! it is just an emergency save your work and shutdown supply. NOT worth it for the price.
