I think I have watched ever last darn video on the V4 Double Barrel, and this is by FAR the best use of the pedal as it should be used, or maybe I'm trying to say that its exactly how I always wanted to use it, and its great to hear someone demo it in that fasion! Thank you!
Thank you for immediately turning down the clean blend knob on the Moonshine side. Turning that knob up for me makes this pedal sound like a clean sound, with a layer of fizzy gain on top. That's the only annoying thing about this pedal. You can get it to sound great, and you clearly did!
Double Barrel another great JHS pedal, Morning glory is a fantastic pedal on its own, I love to leave my morning glory pretty much always on, with the Moonshine built into this one you get that TS as well but with better and more gain and tone. Great review Mike, cheers
Nice pick for the demo tunes . I could imagine Nils Lofgren playing these versions of "Dancing in the Dark" or "Come Together". Lofgren's tune "Walking Nerve" would've been a good demo tune for this pedal. You just can't go wrong with a Strat during your knob turning portion of this demo. That GoPro cam makes your strings look real rubbery when you do those pull-offs. Great Demo Mike. thanks.
Great to hear your version of "Dancing in the dark" again - years after hearing it first from you (with a black Tele?) and then for some Wampler pedal (don't remember which one).
Me! Up til now, I was on Team Wampler but after hearing this pedal demo... I guess it all depends on what else you have on the board. I already have a Bluesbreaker-based pedal (Tapestry Audio Fab Suisse) so the Wampler combination of tweaked TS & Nobels ODR-S (Underdog is basically a clone of that) might be the go. I like the "scooped" setting on the Wampler TS side. But damn, this JHS thing sounds so nice. Gotta have something nice to keep me going while I am on the KOT waiting list!
Hi Mike, love your playing. One critical comment though: the lighting of the pedals is not always favorable. The shadow of the knobs make the labels illegible.
sunlounger29 will do! Thanks for the input. The Morning Glory is on the left. Knobs counterclockwise from top are vol, gain, tone and toggle for high/low gain. Moonshine: top- vol, gain. Bottom- tone, clean blend
Great demo !!!! Masterful and tasty playing and killer production !!!! Incredible touch & tone you have Sir... And if this is a real drummer, I want his phone number. If this is a plugin/loop library please indulge us with the link... I'm guessing Addictive drums, right?
Nice video, great playing, nice mix of guitars. This JHS Double Barrel V4 has so many great tones. The knobs noticeably change the tone's with small changes, all of them very good. So many! I have played 9 guitars through mine and it can be the only drive pedal needed. Humbuckers, mini Humbuckers, Filtertron's, P-90's, single coils on a Telecaster and Stratocaster. I can not find a setting that does not sound good. Desert Island drive for me.
Similar idea. Basically it's a Tubescreamer with a nice boost on the other side, which the Fulldrive does. You just have a little more flexibility with the sound.
My guess is that people already have their favorite TS or two on their board. I had the older Double Barrel, but sold it as soon as the new Morning Glory came out, and coupled that with glee along my seven or so TS pedals. :)

Your playing is simply the best. Thank you for your time.
Best demo of this pedal I've watched all the TH-cam videos. This is by far taking it through it spaces well done and thank you.
Great video! No talking, just tones!
Beautiful rendition of Dancing in the Dark.. Come Together was perfect! Another killer demo under your belt...

I'm watching older videos again...... awesome intro!
Great playing and tones and gear. I really enjoy these longer videos :)

Great version of Come Together! Always enjoy your playing and arrangements.
Ok Mike...you demo all these different pedals....but what do you run on your personal pedalboard?
yes we sure would like to know the answer to this age old question>
Answer - anything he wants, anytime he wants it…
This pedal finally completes my quest for low to mid gain! Thx JHS🎸🤘🏼🇵🇹
Killer arrangements, Mike! Great, as usual. Stoked, my Double Barrel is on its way to me, now!
Great video and playing as always. Cool drum sounds!
Beautiful, fluid, dreamy playing.
Here come old Flat top, he comes moving up slowly...! :) 2:01
TIGHT! Just ordered mine...
An excellent combination of bluesy tone shaping ... and of course great playing!
are you drums programmed?
Holy shit that sounds good.
Best video on this pedal yet! Kudos, but it cost me the price of this pedal. :-)
Dang! Sounding killer! GREAT playing!
Thanks for these man
Jessie Klassen thanks for watching!

Please do a comparison demo of keeley tone work station vs jhs double barrel vs duelist.... Please.
Anyone considering this or paisley delux? Which one!

Both. I have a Moonshine v2 and Wampler Paisley Deluxe on the way. Already have the current Morning Glory (v4?).

useless video? haha wow you're pretty weird
Maybe you could you consider to light the pedals in a way that the viewers can read what knobs you're turning? Thanks!

What pickups are in SG?

Great effect is it similar to fulldrive 2?

Nice pedal, for sure, but man, I stayed for the playing
Why did they replace the moonshine with there modified tubescreamer?
Elephantricity you have it backwards... they replaced their 808 with their Moonshine. The Moonshine is a heavily modified screamer as well...
My guess is that people already have their favorite TS or two on their board. I had the older Double Barrel, but sold it as soon as the new Morning Glory came out, and coupled that with glee along my seven or so TS pedals. :)
a lot of dems using single coils, would like to see more HB Les Paul type run throughs as what does good w one may not be so great w the HB pickups.
It's just a tube screamer and a klon mashed together more or less. Its gonna sound good regardless
@@MrMatt9793 It's a modified bluesbreaker and a modified tubescreamer.
Deal either way, bluesbreaker vs klon you're dealing with a very lightly driven, transparent overdrive tone.
