THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT!? | Ebonite Fireball Purple/Gold

  • This ball is gifted. Normally, a ball that is strong on the backend will average around 7 degrees of impact angle. This one did that often except for one shot in particular. This is the highest impact angle I ever remember recording in the history of using SPECTO! The Fireball Purple/Gold is one to keep an eye on for "mid-performance".

    With the help of SPECTO data, it'll help tell the story about reaction shape, overall hook and continuation through the pins. Here are the SPECTO data points used and definition of each term:
    Launch Speed - Speed measured off the hand.
    Entry Speed - Speed measured at the pins. (What you'd see on your home center MPH screens)
    Rev Rate - Revolutions Per Minute (RPM)
    Launch Angle - The angle the ball traveled the first 10 feet.
    Break Point Position - Board at which the ball was at its outermost position.
    Total Hook - Total number of boards the ball crosses on the way to the pins.
    Hook Power - Number of boards the ball hooked based from the True Breakpoint.
    Entry Angle - The angle of the ball between 51 and 55 feet.
    Impact Angle - The angle of the ball between 57 and 59.5 feet.
    Pin Deck Exit - Ball position at the end of the pin deck.

    Storm releases a weak Lightning Blackout at a much higher price, while this ball seems a bit stronger than that at a lower price point - but I bet the Storm ball gets more attention and praise. We need more bowling ball reviewers that aren't brand-specific to see a better comparison. The Hype and Luke Rosdhal can only do so much!
    Thanks for your take though Nick 😁

    It’s not fair that Ebonite would release an updated Fireball when I haven’t even picked up the first one yet!
    Also…Randy Pedersen, meet BrunsNick, the _real_ 8-pin King.

    I probably would have overlooked this ball if not for your video, that was a great, great demo, you definitely put this ball on my radar, very smooth with decent backend drive for a mid range ball, thank you.

    Thank you, I am an ebonite guy, what would you suggest to switch, ball down, after the fireball breaks to much because lanes are fried? Seams that Bowlaro is not putting the block house shot down in my league anymore and I am seeing the lanes break down really fast.

    Can you explain what GB11.2 means. How does Ebonite coverstock naming work?

    • @brunsnick

      As far as I know, higher the number, the more aggressive and earlier reading it’ll be. So 10.7 will be a step down in strength than 11.2.

  • @jonathan10pin

    I have a challenge for you. You should strip the whole lane and take all the oil out of it, and try to hook the whole lane.🤣

    • @brunsnick

      Wouldn’t work unfortunately. Ball would chirp and roll forward immediately.

    • @TheycallmeRpCratchet

      Parker Bohn III and his son have done this on their channel and tried to beat eachother. You will see that it is impossible to throw even a mild hook the ball just goes in the opposite gutter.

    • @brunsnick

      Looked good without surface so I haven’t touched it. With surface it could probably handle that deeper inside angle better.

    What exactly do you mean by yourself being speed dominate?

    • @TrevorPrinceMusic

      I'm a speed dominate player. How to explain this is I'll use myself. I launch the ball at 19.8-20 mph off my hand. My rev rate is around 320-330. For me to be balanced or what they call matched my revs need to be around 400. A rev dominate player for example EJ tackett, he launches at 17-18 with a rev rate around 500+. If ej had my rev rate he'd be closer to a match player.

    • @brunsnick

      I tend to throw it with more speed and my rev rate isn’t enough. Sometimes I’m matched when I move in and slow down but for the most part 18-19mph 350rpm.

    .how does this compare with the hammer arctic vibe? I am a rec bowler in a house with dry lanes.. low rev rate and low speed (13mph) stroker style. Fav balls are outer limits, infinity, sneak attack solid. Also have tundra fire and a spare ball... Looking for something that will do better on the dry.

    • @brunsnick

      This would be fairly similar to Arctic Vibe. If you have Tundra Fire and need something less than that even, might want to look at Twist or Rhino, maybe even a shiny NU Blue Hammer.

    • @drjandtex

      @@brunsnick Thanks again... you sold me on the NU Blue Hammer in your review of that one... I think it will help me play straighter with less over hooking on the burnt up house shots! Keep up the great work!
