As a singer, this song is not an easy song to sing. Those belts at the end after singing in a mostly soft mode can be really tricky. That's not to mention all the little vocal acrobatics that are just a staple of Auri at this point. So not only Johanna has a gorgeous voice, but incredible skill. Tuomas and Troy create magic with the music and her voice just dances on that soundscape.

I really needed this. In what hasn’t exactly been my best year so far in terms of mental health, this song brought some much needed peace and serenity. Johanna Kurkela’s voice is simply otherworldly. What a beautiful song. I can’t wait for the album.
The last couple of years have been difficult. Tuomas' creativity and genuine emotions are a candle in the dark.
Eidt: I have just been through a tough bout of covid. Was sick all through September and still feeling weak and exhausted. Nightwish's music has been a boon and a comfort throughout this, lifting my spirits and leaving me glad to be alive. In that regard, I cannot recommend the second CD of Human || Nature highly enough.

Tuomas has not composed a lot of songs For this album, it was mainly Johanna and Troy.
I love how the lyrics totally seem like something Tuomas would write, but at the same time, they're so fresh. Perhaps Johanna or Troy also contributed to the writing...either way, love this song! P.S:Johanna literally has the voice of a siren, it's so hauntingly beautiful and hypnotizing omg I can't🙈❤️

@@docbob66 geez calm down, I know it’s not a solo project…I just thought there was a possibility that perhaps Tuomas had written the lyrics simply because he’s written so many lyrics in the past, but I also knew that Troy and Johanna had probably also written some stuff, and therefore “contributed”🙄
I can't wait for the whole album!! This was just masterful and beautiful. In the end, this song felt so personal to me, talking about myself, i started singing the lyrics and being emotional right away!!! Amazing experience!!!! Thank you Thomas, Johannal, Troy, Kai!
At first I thought I didn´t like it, but as soon as it was over, I felt the urge to listen to it again. And again, and again. I don´t think I´ll stop anytime soon. So yeah, I love it.
It is definitely a grower. The more I listen to it, the more I appreciate the music, the lyrics. The CD is ordered, but it is still 3 or 4 months to shipment. I'm sad now... LOL.

My fave song of 2021 🥰 it contains such a beautiful story/message, starting from the happy, childlike excitement of going to an adventure, searching for a 'pearl', , to the deluge, sad section in the middle, up to the very hopeful ending where the narrator will continue their journey despite not knowing exactly what they will find, "scared yet alive"... What a ride!
I thought Auri would be too light music for my taste, but there is something truly magical and attractive in their sound that suck you in. The sound is actually surprisingly big for this type of music and production value is what you except from Night Wish! Not bad at all!
Tuomas should think about writing a sweet duet for Johanna and Floor to sing together, wherever for a Nightwish ballad or for Auri.
While one thing doesn't exclude the other, the whole point of side projects like this is for the musicians to be able to do songs that doesn't actually fit within the scope of their main bands, as well as trying to work as much as they can with as many as different artists as they wish. If a duet like that was something that Tuomas would want, then there would be no reason for this project to exist.
While I wouldn't be agaisnt the idea, I think it is nice to, like, keep things separately like that, it doesn't create confusion amongst newer fans, nor tiring and unecessary comparissons.

There in fact is a song where they sing somewhat together. A band/musical project called U MEET has a song "Cognitive Bias" where the two are responsible for the vocals. The song is more of an ambient one, though, so there isn't much going on in terms of classic singing along some lyrics. The album "No Just" is not available in Spotify - I myself fished it out of a Finnish music store which by luck still had it a few years ago - but the song can be probably found somewhere in the internet.
Oh, I do love the song! I knew I would cause I adore the first Auri album, its calm, fairytale-like energy, Johanna's elvish voice and now I'm certain that the 2nd one will be as great. I mean, that's exactly what I expected and if the rest of songs will be similar to this one then I'm happy beyond belief! I think I came to the point where Auri is what I need more than actual Nightwish' albums (though I love all of them and of course I need them in my life) cause it calms me, helps me escape. After all, what is this Auri project if not escapism recorded on CD? ;)

I think it may be about willing to live and describing aging and death itself, like the pearl diving is the search of the unknown only to find out what death is about and when they grasp it, it is not what they thought, they hope to find it in the end, but for now “Aweigh, anchor, away!”

When I came to work 3 years ago, my company required me to have an English name, to avoid customer's bias, I chose Auri. :D And I have never regretted that.

I just noticed something interesting. At 1:04, the moon is half-covered by a cloud in a way that is very similar to the art of the "Oceanborn" Nightwish album.
Given that this song is very much about the ocean, I wonder if it's a coincidence. After all, Tuomas seems to love to put references to his older songs in his lyrics, so maybe this is something similar. In any case, this song is absolutely breathtaking.
Reporting back just to say that ending, still awesome. As Johanna's voice starts to soar and that fantastic solo from Troy kicks in... just... magic.

This is not a fully Tuomas composition, it has other hand here, maybe Johanna? Or Troy or both, it doesn't sounds like a Tuomas song, it's good but too happy for me
Knowing that back in spring 2020 Troy had written 4 songs for the album, Johanna had written 3 and Tuomas had written only one it is very likely that very few of the songs on this album will be written by Tuomas. My guess is that this one was probably written by Troy but the ending really sounds like something Johanna would write so I'm not sure.
@@simonechabauxtidu8171 Well, we don't know who wrote the two songs that were written after that interview. Maybe Tuomas wrote all of them, maybe he didn't write any but Auri is a collaborative project all the way through. It's not like Nightwish where Tuomas creates the music and then the band makes his vision come true. He isn't the leader of Auri in any way because Auri has no leader. All the members are equally involved in the songwriting process.
It sounds more like a Johanna's composition, similar to some of the songs she wrote for Altamullan Road

Regarding Tuomas Holopainen's compositions, this much is certain: the final form is not predictable, but will always be interesting.
How do you know its a Holopainen composition? Auri has three writers and I read a quote from Troy Donockley (who is himself a serious composer) about this song and if you are familiar with his solo albums it sounds like it could be one of his

Today I received the new Auri album. I have put the world on hold to listen to the CD in loop. So good, Johanna has a very special voice and the more I listen to it the more I want to listen to it. For me, Auri is a kind of Nightwish light without the solid metal but with the poetic lyrics, the music that has no equal. Folky, a bit dreamy, certainly because of the input of Troy, delicious arrangements with the well-known Tuomas twists. I swear I heard a bodhran in Lights and Floods. Is this the first time Troy used a Bodhran in an Auri or Nightwish song? I don't think I heard that before. But... Right now, I can't say I have a favorite song, it's hard to choose and I'm not going to do that. Definitely recommended, you should definitely listen to it.
Troy has played bodhran in Nightwish songs before, so no definitely not the first time. :)
