Whenever you do these Fallout 3 videos I'm always surprised you don't do the mission to help the Ghoul's take over Tenpenny Tower after nuking Megaton, that was always my move when I replayed that game, first nuke Megaton, then help a small contingent of Ghouls kill all the stuck up rich people, then kill all the ghouls and keep Tenpenny Tower for yourself.

The alternative to the annyoing metro would be a very empty and boring world because the Engine can't handle too much stuff in too big areas.
Hence the boring old town ruins around New Vegas. Something like the DC area completely in the open world would do a Megaton to the engine.
They tried it in the New California Mod, resulting in single digit FPS at times.
