I met a Buddhist 19 year old boy who also repeated he believed in Allah because it is logical but also believes in reincarnation. This is exactly Shirk when u believe in God but your Rubb is different. You have delegated authority over Rubb to some monk, priest, preacher, Imam, Rabi, peer, saint, etc.
As soon as u bypass what Allah tells us in the Quran to some other authority, that authority becomes your Rubb.
I heard a authentic Hadeeth, in my words, when a converted to Islam from Yahud Sahabi asks the messenger of Allah why did he say yahudi commits shirk, the messenger of Allah said because they prioritize rabbi over Allah.
This is narrated in my words, actual narration is obviously different. But the messenger is same.
