seeing this dude perform and him smiling every 30 seconds makes me think he's proud of himself for making his music and i honestly don't blame him one bit.

Yeah, he's a bit of a spaz, but he seems to have embraced that and he's got a good ear. I'm always surprised by what he comes up with even though it looks like a lot of improv.
I love his facial expressions, when he grins from relief as he realizes he got his timing right, and his MIDI controller did what he wanted it to. Great stuff. Also I love how he stands with the audience at the end at 27:36, such a nice personal touch to literately connecting with your audience.
I saw him play in Austin and after the set he stood in front of the stage as ppl lined up to meet/talk to him. Very gracious and heartfelt as aforementioned.
i know this was forever ago but it's not a midi controller, it's an open source device called grid by a company called monome. the one they're using here is in a museum now and monome only just started re-releasing this size of grid. here they were using a software called mlr to load and chop samples and then custom mixing those samples together. no midi involved. now they use a program called re:mix with grid to achieve the same effect because mlr became outdated
I love his unique performance, you can tell he's just loving the music. And you can't just jump in this mix like 10 minutes in and get the full effect, it's a journey it takes you on from start to finish. But goddamn it's gotta be really hot in there.
For those that don't know, that's Machinedrum making appearances throughout the set. cool to see him there. He is the the moustache guy popping in around the 19 minute mark. They did their sets on the same day in the same room.
This man always brings it. I love it that his passion comes first and he plays music he wants and just works it. and it just shows, when he puts his hand on his chest you know he just loves what he does
Daedelus is quite honestly one of the best live acts I've ever seen. Great music and what a performance! Love to see a breakdown of his kit and workflow one day.
You all on crutches if you make assumptions of use and really not knowing, and it might be fun to snicker about drugs, but in truth others make large deals out of, and it casts shade. I'd rather be a lighthouse, you don't need to use, really don't, but whatever have your youtube party and I'll just play another show.
Dude can you explain it to me? I have no idea how his controller works or what is the difficulty about doing what he does. I just came here cuz I like the sound
I remember coming to eyedrum gallery show in atl for 88.5 (ga state radio station) and honestly I forgot about all Athens headliners alltogrther, he stole the show. Best vide, best performance, and what a gentleman he is, sucha joy! the entire venue was in trans, his music and ability to create on the spit just takes you away. by far one of the best live shows I've ever attended.
at 19:40 ,There is an original version of a track which I can not detect.. it say something like:"...Out of town with my..it's okay..like a child..." song, track any kind of info??
first off, digging the vibe, digging the timing, digging alfred's bounce, digging the mix, and lastly digging the black chick with stripey black and white top (who bares a stricking resembence to suzi analogue) so much diggin' goin' on.
+Abe Matt People dig his sets because they want to catch something more experimental. It's live music because he is launching clips at specific points versus long mixing one track into another. Here's a pretty obvious example towards the end of the set: th-cam.com/video/ji8CIi93Mhk/w-d-xo.htmlm4s
So rather than going to see live music and having a ton of fun he should do something productive like sit at home and write troll comments on youtube videos? kid in the blue jersey > you
seeing this dude perform and him smiling every 30 seconds makes me think he's proud of himself for making his music and i honestly don't blame him one bit.
Not proud; enraptured, by the musical equivalent of wing-walking, amplified to a five-megaton frisson effect.
In short: melomania.
He' loves what he does... get to travel the world and get paid... Trifecta, and definitely smile worthy :-)
That's what happens when you do what excites you.
He's just on drugs that make it sound good haha
I've always loved that about him.
this guy has a rare type of swag.
Victorian swag like Sherlock Holmes
iafrobeatz trueee!!!!!

He's really fun to watch.
Yeah, he's a bit of a spaz, but he seems to have embraced that and he's got a good ear. I'm always surprised by what he comes up with even though it looks like a lot of improv.
just a bit of a spaz?`
That crowd is weirder than daedelus.
+Stuee Dee They're way better a crowd than the typical boiler room crowd, that just blankly stands there
+secretcountry Yeah for sure. At least they're actually feeling the music.
+Stuee Dee lmao this is the best crowd i've ever seen in boiler room history
sure it is but that doesn't discount my frivolous statement
+Stuee Dee The kid in the back tho
daniel day lewis was so good in gangs of new york its only right he did a boiler room there
ik this is 6 years old but that was gold 😂😂😂

Everything Alfred does is so heartfelt and endearing. He's the most gracious dude I've ever seen perform.

Daedelus always been one my favorites..his live sets, his energy amazing
That is a man that absolutely loves the music he makes.
I’m always drawn back to Daedalus. Moments of such beauty and also ugliness and the play between. Amazing and such a sweet man.
Are these little buttons really that hot?
buttons burning his fingers cuz the music's fire 🔥🔥😭💀
Elite comment
the buttons are lava
Every time he presses them a small village gets evacuated due to searing hot lava waves
Love how animated he is the entire time.
The best Boiler Room.
lolz i see this after u message me on fb
SoulJay
Good, but certainly doesn't beat Baths.
Dylan Flanagan hahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Trevor Wilson You do know Daedelus has released music on Anticon right? And yea the Baths set is def a close second.
Yeah I'd love to see him and Doom do an album. Only they are crazy enough to talk to each other in different tongues lol
that would be dope
Yeah... Wouldn't it be... ;/
Very late reply but DOOM sampled a song of Daedalus’ in accordion which is the closest we’ ever get I suppose
@@luftschloss7878 Doom did a feature on one of his albums, Exquisite Corpse

If anyone is wondering, the sample he uses @ 18:56, it is Endors Toi by Tame Impala.... just sped up...
nah. its rustie
@@Ulukitkan What is your mother tongue?
18:55 the music knocks that man right off his feet
His hand gestures kick ass
Does not seem like he is doing much.
The dude in the NY jersey is on every drug and just FEELIN IT.
So is his friend in the white he's just processing it a different way hahahah

this guy was born for this jesus christ

It’s now almost 5 weeks
It is currently week 6 running up on 7
Week 8
Week 9 homie
@@vJaymes have you breached week 10?
Love Daedelus' expressions, especially at 1:53 he has this half-smile where he's all like "They're gonna dig this so hard."
I love how enthusiastic Daedalus and some in the crowd get, I'm not alone.
Love this guys energy! I must see him live!
You must, it's worth it.
Did you?
There will never be enough Daedelus sets, so please Boiler keep inviting him
one of the DJs i've seen the most live, because he's made it the best experience ever: every time
it's borderline stupid how good Daedalus is
yup
This era was peak
100% true, man. RIP to that....
Love Daedelus' energy with his sets, buzzes off the tunes more than the crowd does
Not only is the music amazing, it is a joy to watch this man work.
One of the first times I care to watch the video of what I'm listening to. This guy is awesome !
Love watching Daedelus perform his music - so entertaining.
Love his energy so much, truly expressive

Are you a fan of hp lovecraft at all?
If you watch this backwards i'ts about a guy who just got out of shower slowly drying his hair pressing buttons with a crowd.
Fkn lol
Baaaaaaaaaaha
2:39 is one of the greatest uses of a rap sample of all time. change my mind
LMFAO
Maestro! just watching you perform is an inspiration, seeing someone enjoy what they do and do it well is a beautiful thing.
That Tame Impala drop was SICK.
oh my GOD?????
i found him through some random producer sampling something off of his first album. i am enthralled.
that random producer is madlib
That first song, and the way he dropped it, was absolutely nuts! Daedelus, you are the man!
Lawd, help them, these background children simply have no idea...
What to do or what that dude did.
Dude can you explain it to me? I have no idea how his controller works or what is the difficulty about doing what he does. I just came here cuz I like the sound
7:30 he drops an LDFD track with that Touch Myself sample, heard it on his Knocksteady podcast, such a massive track!!
By far, one of the most entertaining performers to watch
boiler room really boil him man is just sweating and sweating
he's so on beat he looks like he's his own glitch
I feel like Daedelus is one of the only people who could ever drop an older Tame Impala track in a set and make it work this well.
Gaslamp killer did it on boiler room but Daedalus turned it into a new blissful sped up remix
this guy is a one off.!!! last meets future and rocks it . such a humble guy too, we need more like him :)
his main monome isa monome 256 with Max/MSP program Mlrv. He also does a monome 64 on the side controls effects
Ik it’s 7 years later, but THANK YOU
Thx br for gettin this up - and thx dae, md and all involved for a amazing show. This set is gunna be on play for a long time! Much love!!!

They should give the performers complimentary towels that they can keep after their sets! Embodied with the boiler room logo in gold!
Daedelus in the Boiler Room just doesn't disappoint.
