A few tracks I was able to recognize: 10:13 Daedelus - Order of the golden dawn 11:30 Photay - No Sass 13:07 Jacques Greene - Another Girl 15:04 Daedelus - Tailor Made
He's one of the first masters of that instrument. I think that the monome in particular has come a long way and is still a progenitor for many modern electronic music interfaces. The boundaries of the both of them are yet to be found.
he's also been working on creating a new device that he's calling the "Delaydelus". there are several videos of it on his facebook page if you havent seen them yet.
I think we're still 10 years from seeing what deadelus can really show with his musical sixth sense... meanwhile hes left everyone else so far in the past they don't even know they are there yet. can not wait to see what this dude comes up with next
I remember I hated music, like nothing ever really hit me up until I was 9 and I heard a song by him, i think it was greatly exaggerated, can't really remember. All I knew is it woke up something in me, like, his music made sense. Been a fan for 12 years and counting now.
Only makes sense if your on a very strong amphetamine. Need fast beat to keep up with the fast mind. MDMA, Meth, Adderall, daedelus is on one of those.
@@HD5830Gamer It also makes sense if you marinate in the tunes of IDM and such for a long time. Changes your brain in some sort of way just like a drug and alters your perspective to take in the tunes and the tones and process them in a way. It's what I've done for a few years, and music has never been the same. Everything has so much more depth to it, and I can tell when music isn't deep anymore. Down the rabbit hole.
@HD5830Gamer um lol I don't do amphetamines, I'm generally a high energy individual but I like to tune into daedelus when I'm actively inspiring creation or putting together concepts
Caleb Fraley ya, I've been a fan of his for almost 10 years now... he did seem nervous. I dont blame him though because I am hopeless at speaking in front of a group under formal conditions. I think the strict time limit added to the pressure of trying to communicate some very abstract ideas. I need to figure out how I can record that spontaneous creation to add to some of my own cd mixes.
I was having a conversation with him at a show a few years ago at le poisson rouge in NY where Just Blaze made a surprise appearance, and Just Blaze walked up and introduced himself to Daedelus in the middle of us talking. It was awesome watching them first meet haha. We then had a short convo all together.. pretty dope memory. He's a wonderful man that Daedelus.
I heard this live, I think it's easier to understand if you just listen (or at least easier for me as I'm working at the same time). Interesting similarities between this and Vedanta...our reality is filtered by our senses, so is not true reality. It's impossible for us to perceive what we really are: infinite. At least that's what I heard between the lines.
I feel I generally got around to the same understanding as well. As some that have seen and know of Daedelus and his music and seeing him live before, he is quite the nervous type (in larger crowds) but i think he did well to explain his thoughts on sound and music and how it's more than just sound and music, then he had that great set. Quite surprised he didn't sweat as insanely as per usual though, haha. Hope you enjoyed being there live.
His mic and the ruffling against his beard was very annoying love Daedalus saw him a few times in concert and actually met him at an Apple Store he's very creative artist I made TH-cam videos with his soundtrack in the back I just can't stand this mic in this video anyone else
Personnellement je trouve que ce mec là a du génie...dernier commentaire il y a 7 ans...et bien 7 ans plus tard, toujours aussi frais!! Chapeau l'artiste ;)
Hes most certainly on MDMA+Meth combo to have such precision. Not to mention in the boiler room he looks very manic on the verge of overload. I fully understand his reasons, I take the same combo and its how I got into this kind of music.
Yeah. The talk was a bit of a mess. It was a hodgepodge of random unrelated fact about sound and music. That approach works much better for his music though.
This guy just say hearing a certain sound frequency, makes you poop?? LMAO ok this guy is just trying to hard to be this hippie sound guy.. anyone else annoyed about the wrestlin of the mic as he talked? He probably wanted that in there to say " every sound is music" lol 😂
Daedelus is the type of guy to have ted talk

order of the golden dawn is my all time fave follow up with Tailor Made
Thanks. Listening to Bespoke for the first time.
What a cool, weird dude.
Emphasis on the cool. Dude oozes charm and his music is off the hook.

EstimatedProphet92 Except maybe his fellow Ninja: Amon Tobin and Tipper.
What he does reminds me of the game "Guitar hero"
@@The_Accuser What about wagon christ
He's exploring modular now to great effect!
Bummer no one seemed to catch his joke about occasional applause.

I can't fucking believe he made the ost for nidhogg
Daedelus is the monome.
he did his best talking with his music! what a killer vibe!
He seems so nervous throughout his whole speech, but as soon as he hopped on that console he was INSTANTLY in the zone! Love this guy X)

+RedroomStudios and that crowd isn't per say his type of people
love this dude... would kill to have a conversation with him

Not a fan of electronic music, but very nicely made though.
Man it sucks living in TN with no one to share this with
Living here, I used to think the same thing. Now I just share it with people anyways and if it doesn't land with them, at least they heard him.
@@andrewhooper7603 I feel you
Daedelus is just the man.
They’re actually non-binary

***** Sorry by live I meant I was tuned in as it was happening, not there! I wish, I miss Maui!
The Curl Jung of music

yes, so ironic this video is about the precision of sound yet it recorded all these interferences from his... beard
The burnt patch of baldness on his head looks like he's wearing a Kippah.
very Philip Glass-like philosophy at the beginning....
hey this is the dude what made the accordion sample
That was amazing. Can't wait to review in person.
the way he presses the pads and does that stylistic hand movement is so swag lol
He is a genius .
Big inspiration
Ziet er mooi uit manZiet er geweldig uitZiet er erg intresant uit woepie prachtig man
When performing and talking Daedelus always touches his face.

i love that many of the audio files he sampled were clipping, he just couldn't care less
15:46 looks kinda like a tiger or some animal, his head is the eye, you know what I mean
“Y’all don’t know the same Daedalus I know”
How did I miss this. Much love
I dont even understand what's happening

Lousy presenter but man does he rock that monome!
