Redefining Gender Roles in Marriage

This is such an insightful and rarely addressed topic. Every time it comes up on sm, it’s always biased arguments here and there laced with trauma. It’s a major reason some people aren’t married yet because somehow, they believe that once they get married, they would have to bear more than they can carry and put everything else in the burner. Some don’t even believe that it can and should be discussed.
Most importantly, I love that it’s coming from people who are living the reality and I hope more people get to see it.

I agree that it's going to take a whole lot of unlearning and relearning, even on the part of the women.
Growing up, I never saw my Dad take part in any domestic roles; it was always my mom. So, it's already ingrained into my mind that housekeeping is the woman's job, and the man can just sit around and do nothing, and this is really eye-opening because there are things I don't like to do. I love to wash plates, wash the toilet, cook, arrange, but you see that sweeping and mopping??😭
I detest it greatly. It's an extreme sport for me. Like you said, these roles should be based on preference and what each partner has to offer. Thanks again for the video. ❤
