Yamaha A450 NS Series amp, KEF C55 and DIY Dac

old Yamaha amp from late 1970's playing very good, it has been recapped and cleaned and now it delivers famtaatic sound, paired with diy DAC that also plays great thanks to Philips ultra low noise op amps that improved overall soundstage. Used with QED sp.cables and Supra interconnect. Use headphones for better experience

Beautiful old Yamaha amp. Back when Yamaha made good quality stuff. What caps did you use? I am about to recap and service my A450 ( not me personally, but a professional electronics tech ). Thankyou for posting vid.

So sorry for late reply, it was fully serviced by previous owner, fully recapped - I dont know the details to be honest but yes it sounds great. Friend of mine had bigger model from the same series and still regrets selling it few years ago.

Just an update, my A450 is now fully recapped with Nichicon caps, cleaned pots, adjusted and balanced idle mV and it sounds like a new amp. Lots of life left in it now.
