Véritables stakhanovistes, les natifs de l’Etat du Tennessee sont en train de se tailler la réputation d’un groupe à l’inspiration galopante, capable de dépeindre avec la même aisance les ambiances arides où sonnent les crotales ou les atmosphères enfumées typiques des tripots de Nashville.
Here is one of the new forces in the scene fusing desert rock with hard hitting blues. These Tennessee natives are in the process of building a reputation as a band with a galloping assault capable of both arid ambiances and fuming metal majesty typical of the thrilling Nashville sound.

This is an important band. Outstanding
Agreed, they are so under appreciated imo. They've become one of my all time faves since I heard them about a year ago
they only really stand out because of all the shit music being produced nowadays imo. I mean I like this band a lot, but comparing this music to some of the great music from the late 60's early 70's or some of the better stuff from the 90's is a bit of a stretch. I wanted to believe and I hope they can do it..

saw them upstairs at the Middle East in Cambridge several years ago. the crowd helped them carry their stuff in from the van. they hadn't slept in 24 hrs and looked like shit. They lit the place up for a solid 1.5 hrs. Everyone was enthralled.
That's amazing! Wish I could've gone to that one. I'm gonna miss that venue so much. That was one of my favorite venues to play. They went up for sale right before covid
The ripple they created that night left marks on distant shorelines.
Lately been into sitting in the dark with this band on full blast. Just lovely

They are awesome to listen loud and clear while driving a car, but they are even better, a lot better, awesomely amazing to watch them live. Even so, I miss the keyboards. It was just simple magic. The main thing is... Once you dont know there were keyboards All Them Witches sound amazing true rock. Once you know their past keyboards player you feel them not incomplete, but for sure, it feels that something that is a trully All Them Witches component (Allan Van Cleave) is missing. Think it was a peacefull depart, but for us who listened and lived those harmonious notes, will be always welcome to return and join the band again, and again, and again....
Yes indeed. Love Allan's keys. He was a game changer. If it isn't Allan keep it as a trio.
Agree. they're amazing as is, but there was an extra magic to the keys. Also miss how he added violin to their album tracks.

One of the best bands
That's the best concert opening ever. Those 4 first minutes are gold.
The whole show is mind blowing, but damn, they know how to get to the core of things straight away!

That's bold to say. There are more relevant and influential players alive. But... As a guitar player myself, I really like his approach, sound, style and musicality. High regards. He is a really a solid player, tasty and versatile. He clearly knows his trade, and he's in love with music and his instrument.
Edit: I forgot to praise his creativity. He uses a minimalist approach on sounds, and equipment and gets the most out of the least. This is a great skill and trademark of his musical style.

@@CarloCalcaterra92 I think the more accurate statement is that Ben is one of the most relevant guitarists alive. I'm a player myself and am well aware of all the Instagram virtuosos and other technical wizards running around at present, but in terms of 'gigging' guitarists who are actually members of creative and legitimate bands, the list is small. All Them Witches are the only band in recent memory that have made me stop and pay attention, they're head and shoulders above the competition in my opinion and a huge part of that is Ben's creative songwriting and playing.
@@MrGunwitch Bens sense of presence in songs is crazy good. It's so good that you almost need to point it out because it's so effortless. No doubt it might be hard to convince a casual player who gets caught by fancy techniques. In terms of taste and authenticity to the sound he kills it. Solid af live too. I'm with you on this one for sure.
Il y a 48 heures, je n'avais jamais entendu parler de ce groupe. Je suis en train de rattraper mon retard à une vitesse supersonique. Et déjà, je me sens en pleine confiance pour asséner les yeux dans les yeux toute une série de formules péremptoires où j'interdis - c'est le principe du péremptoire! - toute contradiction. Donc... All Them Witches est le meilleur groupe du monde en activité en 2020. Leur dernier album "Nothing as the Ideal" est le meilleur album de l'année 2020. Jusque là, c'est facile vu l'état de la concurrence... All Them Witches est un groupe historique. Car hautement talentueux et inspiré. "Nothing as the Ideal" est l'un des 5 ou 10 meilleurs albums du millénaire et l'un des 50 plus grands albums de toute l'histoire du rock'n'roll... Rats in Ruin est l'un des 10 titres les plus poignants de tous les temps. All Them Witches est bien au-delà des filiations, des cousinages... Des comparaisons, des catégorisations... All Them Witches trace son propre chemin et est devenu le chemin lui-même.
Découvert il y a une semaine...et je suis déjà pas loin de partager ton avis, je suis sur le cul!!!

I almost turned it off because of the audio mix and sound quality .... and then Ben got going.
Sounds like they fixed the vocal mix starting around workhorse. Made for a big improvement in the second half.

This band is incredible! I can hear all kinds of influences. I am not very familiar with newer rock Gods but some of the guita work reminds me a great deal of Jeff Beck, an old time Creem member who had one killer solo album (see Blow by Blow), Sammy Hagar, when he was younger (see Young Girl Blues), Ted Nugent when he first hit the scene (see StrangleHold), Duane Allman of the Allman Bros.Band (see Eat a Peach) and Leslie West of Mountain (see Mississippi Queen). These boys are quite good, as if they'd been studying these Masters for years and years.
That girl the camera guy keeps focusing on looks just like Mike Starr's (see Alice In Chains) little sister Melinda when they were young! Beautiful!. (Hi Melly!)

I first saw these guys at the Sunset Tavern in Seattle about 7yrs ago and I would never want to see them play anything other than an intimate setting. I could not stand at the back of Hellfest and enjoy this show.

They supplemented the lack of keyboard with heavy riffage! They went back to their roots! This is exciting! However, I do miss the keyboards as well

The Avett Brothers are pretty good at ode to black blues garage rock
Saw these guys @ Desert Fest Berlin, one of the best performances. The sound mix here is mediocre, not used to this Hellfest. ATW deserves better. This band is really addictive, unique style. Shame the keyboard player is gone, he was ace.
i agree ! the psychedelic keys helped set a unique timbre to their music which is no longer there , even though they were a bit to omnipresent at times ! still an amazing bluesy rock 'n roll band . Love it !! three piece bands fucking rock. feel like dropping some ACID !
