I remind you about the like, subscription and comment if you liked this video. ❤Thanks to this, you will see my next videos and it will help me develop my channel. 🎶
My late friend, Nick M. of Phoenix, Arizona, would play this on his guitar. In 1970, he went to a guitar building workshop, and hand crafted his very own classical guitar. Thank you kindly for playing this particular piece so beautifully. Mike in Oregon
A very sensitive performance, which brings out a different side of the music - there's a wistfulness and melancholy here. It's quite a revelation. I love it.
¡ Beautiful Ilona ! Your version of this clasical piece is clear, musical, sweet and loose. Excelent trémolo and the bass is not lost. Congratulations! , and thank you! 🌹👏👏🇦🇷
To chyba najpiękniejsze dzieła, jakie kiedykolwiek skomponowano na gitarę. ❤
Well known composition(Mike Oldfield used it as the main theme for The Killing Fields)but this classical version,so sensitively played,is one of the best and brought tears to my eyes(in a good way!).Thank you for playing it with such feeling like a maestro of the instrument.
@@ilona.guitar Thank you for your reply,Ilona.Oldfield's version is called Etude. He keeps the basic melody and adds an oriental sound to it(in keeping with the theme of the film)plus a rhythm backing.I like it but your classical playing is a more authentic and better version.
To me, Ilona is a fairy coming to earth! Your beauty is second to none, your face is filled with holiness and gentleness, you play the guitar so wonderfully, of course I have to say I love and admire you so much!❤❤
You’re right hand technique is incredible. I thought when I’ve heard heard this that you would overdubbed another guitar. I had to watch it twice to see what you were actually doing bravo keep uploading.
One does not see this sort of expression much amongst the new DEI imports, does one? If the imports continue this sort of magnificence will be relegated to a dust bin and eventually become hazy memories of an old world. Allahu akbar. cough.
Thank you for this recording. I very much like the tempo you chose making the tremolo very even and consistent throughout the piece. Interpretation reminds me of the one usually chosen by Lagoya (especially the one recorded live in NY with flutist JP Rampal). Thanks for sharing this piece, and for the video showing all fingers and movements without cuts, zooms or other visuals.
You have become my favourite musician for 2024. Enthralling would be one way to describe your amazing skills and ofcourse huge dedication. I think your music selection is everything we need in these difficult times. Anthems for hope and a better future.
I am not musical. I read the comments by others and believe from what little music I heard this is what I have always been seeking when looking for guitar music.
I fell in love with Classical Guitar when I first saw Andre Segovia perform at the Hollywood Bowl in the early 70's. I can't tell you how many of your videos I've watched...........and loved each one. Few recognize the thousands upon thousands of hours of practice you have put in. You possess an incredible talent. Thank yiu for sharing that gift with all of us.
I had never heard this song, and I have played guitar for 60 years, what an unfortunate thing. The song, the guitarist are amazing. I will have seek out more of his work. It is not easy to play as well as she does. Awe Aspiring.
This piece hits me in my soul every time i hear it these days. When i had it worse in my life back in the day i had a walkman with a casette with this song on that i listened thousands time...
Excellent! The story goes, that when Julian Bream was young, he attended a Segovia concert in London. When he heard this piece, he was deeply moved & inspired to seriously pursue classical guitar.
Thank you for your kind comments! ♥️ What would you like to hear in the next video? 🎥🎶
Some Villa-Lobos or Chopin 😅
A song that any great musician would have wanted to compose: Bohemian Rhapsody
Romance espagnole pls
Asturias ,please
Sonata 11 - Mozart.
I haven't heard tremolo this good and consistent for far too long...
I'm glad you like it. Thank you!
Helo
I agree
Great Guitar Artist. ❤
I agree. Very few guitarists have the right consistency with their tremolo. This guitarist and Julian Bream have the best covers of this song.

Your tremolo 👍💥playing is fantastic.
Ojej... Pani Ilono... Przywróciłaś mi tą interpretacją wiarę w najpiękniejsze wartości ogólnoludzkie sztuki muzycznej...

One of the most beautiful performances of this piece that I have ever heard.
Yes, but best is Laif Lauridsen.
First heard this on a John Williams recording years ago. Always brings tears.
A very sensitive performance, which brings out a different side of the music - there's a wistfulness and melancholy here. It's quite a revelation. I love it.
Your playing gives me goosebumps. That virtually NEVER happens to me. Your precision and dynamics are tier 1!
Words can not describe how beautiful these renditions are. You are so very talented and we all are so fortunate to hear you play.
Makes me feel like im overlooking Alhambra right now feeling all the years flowing by
It is rare to hear one of the "standards" such as this played in a way that makes it stand out from other renditions; well done.
There's always some kind of pressure when playing such famous piece so I'm glad you liked my interpretation. ☺️
¡ Beautiful Ilona ! Your version of this clasical piece is clear, musical, sweet and loose. Excelent trémolo and the bass is not lost. Congratulations! , and thank you! 🌹👏👏🇦🇷
You are so kind. Thank you, it motivates me a lot! 🥰

❤ I’m just amazed how she makes the guitar cry of emotion😊
Ilona, you are a genius, I am very moved by your music, it brings me true nostalgia and at the same time peace.

Exactly! Thank you so much for bringing this up. I thought I start to imagine things as I was sure I've heard some of those motives somewhere before.
@@InfinityMind1 Glad I clarified it for you,Infinity Mind!Mike Oldfield calls his version Etude.
Indeed Ilona you are taking this masterpiece to a different level by you majestic interpretation.. it is so soul healing.❤❤❤

My favorite - I remember from Spanish class in high school in the mid 80’s; a few years later I was standing in front of of La Alhambra in Granada

Played with elegance and grace! Absolutely beautiful.
