Mike I'm jealous but you're my hero! PS: You could do an episode on how to get your wife to say yes to that new piece of equipment! Bahahaha!
You definitely earned another point on your man card as far as I'm concerned. Not because you purchased an excavator but by the fact that you convinced Melissa that "you all" needed one. Way to go big Mike!!
I wonder just how much of this excavator purchase conversation between Mike and Melissa included the topic of savings around ground prep for the installation of Melissa's pool..? :) Mike will put this new investment to lots of good uses.
Really 😁 I’m not buying that 😂 how does Biden say it, com mon man ‘ yeah she was on board with that . I guess you convinced her to dig her poor with it 😁

Yes you do need this!!! It will be great when you buck fire logs!! Add you a ball on front blade to pull a 5x8 or 10 tralier loaded with wood or dirt....
Wow, that Melissa is just a fantastic wife, especially for encouraging you to get the new machine. She's definitely a keeper! Do you think she would talk to my wife, I have a couple of big things I could really use her support and encouragement to purchase too! 🤗

Nice machine. You did it right. You rented when you needed it. You found yourself renting it more, made a list of projects you can complete with one. You justified getting one.
Congratulations. I’m quite envious. I got my L6060 around four years ago and added my BX2380 two years back. I’ve wanted to add something close to the same and might have to in the spring. Last years outside fun work funds went to snow moving equipment. Living in Maine, I needed it.

Mike, Melissa is right, a pool is great. We have had an above ground pool for 20 years and when your working out side on hot summer day you can take a break and jump in the pool to cool off, we install a used one and love it.
Congratulations on your purchase. Very nice machine, you can easily justify this at your place. You will get much use out of this. Can’t wait to see many hours of videos with you at the controls.
Melissa, Are you the perfect spouse or what?! Some guys dream about a boat or a sports car... but oh no, Mike wants an excavator! And with several buckets, too! On the video around 13:15, Mike looks like a little kid who just got a new bicycle. Enjoy!!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that has to keep and hide documented proof of approval for major purchases. Have a great year and I'm sure you will find lots of work for the new equipment.
Congrats Mike and Melissa. Mike has that smile like a kid at Christmas that got the toy they wanted. I have seen the County Maintenance use the 4 ft bucket for cleaning our bar ditches in the front of our house. Be safe.
Congrats! I purchased a KX040 this fall. A 2020 year w/ only 315 hrs. = substantial savings. Came w/ 24" dig bucket and has 6-way blade. I bought a 48" ditch bucket for it and use for irrigation ditches. Blast to operate.
I can’t wait for the episode where Melissa teaches herself to use the excavator. It will be followed by an episode of her beginning to dig the pool. Her neighbor Jeanne will be right there with her! Nice addition to the fleet Morgans!
I’m sure I can speak for most subscribers and say that we all look forward to seeing the new purchase get dirty and the endless projects it’ll be used on. Congrats on the new addition and stay safe.
Melissa has a way of getting her point across. Witty, funny and the glue holding it together! Mike - I have been married 30 yrs., fix the light switches, replace the kitchen light and do yourself a favor and redo the kitchen. Not just replace the oven, but redo the kitchen. Great winter project.
Mike & Melissa: I've have a JD 60G with a fixed blade, got it at 3,500 HRs. Now its over 8,600 HRs. While some say, Nothing Runs Like A Deere & Nothing Beats A Kubota. I agree with Both. I wish you both & your family the best this New Year.
Great news Mike, you deserve it. Melissa has to be the greatest wife ever!!! That's what happens when you are a hardworking man, your wife supports your goals.
Mike, I'm a non-outdoors octogenarian who has been living vicariously through your site for almost two years. I have even started trying to update and watch all your programs. What an enjoyable task. That aside I use your numbering system to stay up-to-date. In one of your previous programs you mentioned ending numbering your programs. To me that would be a bummer, I haven't seen a session where you indicated how or if you are going to "label" future programs as you approach 1,000, but I would like to propose the use of the Roman Numeral "M" (1,000) and starting you numbering over, thus maintaining the three or four digit designation (M001, M002, M003, or #M01, and so forth). The latter would only offer 99 iterations , but I don't think you need to use the #. Regardless I look forward to all your programs in 2021. God bless you, Melissa and your family with good health and keep up your excellent programming. John in Williamsburg, VA
Btw that boom swing is invaluable when you cant dig a ditch straight ahead. You can ride parallel to the ditch cut and swing the machine to the left and swing the stick to the right using the offset to run parallel ditch while you back straight up. Real convenient actually.
Nice editing try Mike, but no way that BX backhoe lifted that log...and the BX backhoe is Kubota orange, and what moved that huge log was painted black, just like your new, and what I'm sure is going to get lottsa use, excavator. :o) Can't pull the wool over the eyes of Vincent Laguardia Gambini!lol Be safe, and Have a Day, to all!

Nice purchase! Mike, have a look at Cotontop3's channel - he has a few nice attachments for his Kubota excavator and he has a few videos where he sets out his reasoning for his choice of attachments.

Mike - I rented the exact same model for 2 weeks in August for working by the lake. When they took it away I emailed a picture of it to my kids and said if you love your dad this is what you’ll buy me for Christmas. For Christmas they bought me a very good bottle of scotch with a note that said just drink this whenever you miss your excavator and drink this until your thoughts go away. So right now I’m jealous beyond belief.
What a lot of folks may not know is that tractors, heavy machinery, and sawmills hold there value very well. You may as well buy a brand new Woodmizer mill, because the used ones are only about 15% to 20% less in price. The way you take care of your equipment and the amount of money you will save by owning said equipment, will insure you ROI will be positive.
Next purchases: 3/4 ton diesel truck and trailer for hauling this machine and the MX so Mike can do side jobs in retirement.
Might as well go for the gold. One ton dump truck makes more sense for that purpose.
@@markpashia7067 possibly, but a one ton dump doesn't make for a good Burger King run or family vehicle in the off hours.
Oh hell might just as well get a triaxle then the big loads of firewood could be delivered.
Just like an orange Tractor Time with Tim?
F250 is too small, max towing is 14k...ask me how I know! 😆🤣😂

So--- the new nickname for Hunter has to be. “SASSY”. Short for Sasquatch !
Very nice excavator. I didn't think it would pick up those white oak logs. I'm sure you will put it to good use. Thanks Melissa.
Hobby Barn is now too small. I see an addition coming.
And I can't convince my wife that even a little BX would be helpful on our 5 acres.
It would. It’s a game changer!!!!
Best money I ever spent was on a subcompact for my five acres.
Get her out in the field doing work and then start talking about it.
Fool not to. If you buy right, they are almost free. I bought a L3410 for $11,000 15 years ago, sold it 2 years ago for $13,000.
Mike do yourself a favor . Definitely get the Auger attachment. It has revolutionized the firewood industry
