      Me and Tina’s story are KIND OF similar, I was abused by my dad, I’ve been through so much hurt in the past, having most of my friends, or people I try to make friends with, leave or become toxic, even having my own crush turn against me and my former friends, I always feel like whenever I find happiness, it’s taken away from me in such a short time, and that there’s more bad than good in my life, but, no matter what, I always keep a smile on my face, knowing one day my life will get better, and I will find a point in my life where I will be happy.

      @@auroreongagna2416 Thank You!...Every time I see this performance, to me, Tina looks like she's crying inside. The first couple of songs she seem to be okay. I always felt that something must have happened during intermission between the beginning songs, then coming back out for River Deep.

    I am currently reading Tina Turner's book, "MY LOVE STORY." This was the first time Tina did not sing the way Ike wanted. Phil Spector followed Tina and Ike around, and decided Tina could sing the song he had in mind. The WALL OF SOUND is/was a complete orchestra and choir. Tina sang in a booth in the middle of it. Her voice was an instrument.

    • @renaissanceinblack
      @renaissanceinblack ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@user-pp9tm7ep3v I don't think that the Wall of Sound was a place, but an idea. Basically so many lawyers of sound including instruments and even a choir that it was a wall of sound.

    Tina looks over at Ike when she messes up her line, she accidentally repeats one of the lines, instead of saying (I love you baby like a robin love to sing I love you baby like a flower loves spring she repeats the robin part twice) but her energy, performance, motivation, that smile and vocal all made up for it I sincerely love you Ike and Tina and Tina Turner

      Yeah I think this booking was short notice because if you look at the dancers in the dance break they are not the original ikettes & they are looking at her to keep up lol…but Alot of folk don’t know Ike worked Tina & the band constantly they would do 3 shows a day in various Chitlin circuits when they didn’t have a hit out! It was always work overload…I think by the time he got bad with powder she was ready to go

      @@renataostertag6051 You're welcome.
      I also liked the Ikettes very much.
      They all were very good singers, dancers and entertainers and pretty much underrated. They gave Tina a platform to shine. They were good looking and sexy.
      Here the beautiful Ann Thomas couldn't sing; she was known as the non-singing Ikette. She was Ike's mistress and they later had a daughter, Mia.
      Paulette Parker was also known as Maxayn Lewis. She auditioned for Ike and Tina who were on the road and was hired on the go.
      Jean Brown later became Jean Burks, as she married Ike's trombonist Eddy Burks.
      And the beautiful Pat Powdrill later quit the Revue and took off on her own and had a few hits. She died from heart failure before she reached 50.

    Great live performance! I prefer Tina's music from the 60s and 70s when she was with Ike. People like to discredit Ike but he was a talented musician. He wrote the first Rock and Roll song, "Rocket 88" when he was only 19. There is a reason Tina wanted to be in his band. He can't take credit for her natural talent but he gave her a platform to shine. They created a wonderful musical legacy together which is why they're inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame together as a duo.
