      Dear Gary, doubting between an XS and an S. Too expensive to order both 🙂 and don't want to send one back for ecological reasons. Can I ask you about your size (chest/waist) + eventually height? That will help me in ordering the right size 🙏

      @@teaandtrails I'm sure you will (if you treat it normally).. mine still looks like it did on day 1 and I'm not someone who's overprotective about their purchases ;)
      Just let it dry and then fold it into it's own pocket for storage until the next rainy day. Just be careful with the zipper..

    I had the stormshell and vowed never to get another inov8 jacket again. It started delaminating around the pocket and cuffs and the hood was poor. I reverted back to a lightweight Rab one I'd had from years before. Inov8 tried to say I hadn't looked after it properly, but all my other jackets were fine. I now have a Mammut Aenergy which is awesome, and a Rab Phantom which is my race jacket as it is incredibly light but not so robust.

      Interesting. I’ve had this jacket a year now and it’s holding up fine 🤞

    I’ve got that jacket, I guess the 1st version, even though it looks the same apart from mines green.. cracking jacket, I’ve had it for years, I tend to keep it for events, so not warn all the time but still looking good. I’ve worn it in some really miserable weather and its survived with me dry. At worst, dampish forearms due to sweat it heavy rain, but not wet.. and when the rain stopped it dried itself and me very quickly. Just wish I could buy a second one in a larger size so it’d go over my pack now I’ve started doing ultras with very bulky mandatory kit. Haven’t had to wear it under a pack yet.. so I’m hoping it won’t kill the lovely fabric.
    Thanks for the review

      Great to hear James, yeah, a 2nd larger jacket would be ace! Good point re if a vest messes the material up. We’ll see I suppose 🤞

    Mine just arrived from SportsShoes today, but way too small for me. I’m not a big guy at all but the large is far too small, and no XLs to be found online anywhere. Never been an XL in my life so obviously need to lose some timber! 😂 Thanks for the review Gary.

    Out of curiosity. I'm 37.5 chest 32 waist. In theory small is ok of their sizing which I'm hoping as it's on sale. What do you think

    • @teaandtrails
      @teaandtrails  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tough question. I’d buy a small and medium then return the one I don’t want or go to a shop if possible.

      Don‘t do that! I'm in the same situation, and I buy a smaller size. But it's too small for me, so I return it and buy a larger one.

    Agree with it feeling snug. I went up a size and it still feels weirdly snug. They put a warning up about this on their website where they call it a slim fitting jacket, so I guess they have received emails about this

    Great review! I must be the only one who ended up with a rubbish one it seems 😂 I tried to re-proof it but no avail, you can see the water actually penetrate through the material. It is my only waterproof, but cannot wait to be able to buy a decent waterproof jacket.

    It's a good-looking jacket and a great review. I live in the Great Bear Rainforest and have the worst system to keep dry! (I think you call them bin bags) Also, I have a colder climate so think a larger size might be best so I can wear another layer or two. Maybe I'll get myself a Christmas gift this year and splurge on a "Stormshell".

    I have a Salomon Bonatti trail jacket water starts coming through after a couple of minutes. Why do these companies charge so much for these jackets, advertise them as waterproof- and they’re effectively useless in the rain..

    Is there any difference against the original version? It appears the same from watching this. Maybe the top pocket is bigger.
