this guy is the hacksmith of the art section. im a artist myself but im not really trained at all with wood carving, i really wanna do this stuff myself,
More so this is the second obito mask you've done, He's my favorite character so this is awesome.
I cant expect this but it'd be neat if you did a sort of series for those of us who want to learn, especially beginners, like getting to know the tools u use and how to work with/without them, how to get the dimensions, types of wood you use etc.
This channel needs to blow up.
Also the mask is almost perfect

Quick tip from a fellow woodworker that I learned from another woodworker: You ever get gift cards for holidays and birthdays? After you spend everything on them, instead of throwing them away, save them, use them to spread glue on larger projects like this.

I love Naruto and I'm sure alot of us grew up watching Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. I haven't really watched Boruto yet but I'm not opposed to it I just prefer Naruto Shippuden over the rest.

hey aside from the challenge could you tell me how big is the wood you usually use to make masks ? like with the no face mask ? i've been wanting to make something like that so that would be extremely helpful
I usually use 12" x 9" x 2" but most outlines fit onto a piece of paper. Good luck with your projects!

2:45 What is that black paper behind the sketch and is that needed in order to be able to draw the sketch onto the wood? Is it possible to do it without it? Also, are you using a regular pen? Great video.
It's charcoal paper, and its the easiest way I've found to transfer a sketch. There are other ways of course but just my preferred way. Also, yes you just use a regular pen or pencil with the charcoal paper. Thanks for watching!
@@Scholley_ I know you said that you use an angle grinder to cut away the wood on the back of the mask, but is there any other way to do it quickly? Obviously excluding hand carving it yourself.
@@jamesarcher5196 you could use a router to remove a lot, or maybe even a hand drill with a spade bit would work, but unfortunately I've found that an angle grinder is the quickest. The other methods work but require more work

What measurements did you determine before you glued?
I just measured from the front of my nose to the back of my head, from my chin to the top of my head and from ear to ear. The orientation that I used in the video worked well for me
