I have a garden in my home which was originally just a piece of land in my backyard. When I was around 6, it was a warm summer evening and my dad had brought some really sweet mangoes. While eating them, I remember asking my mom as an innocent child that what if we grow our own mango tree? then we can have free mangoes forever! She said yes that's right! So that evening I planted my tree from the seed that was left from the mango that I ate. Today I am 25 and that mango tree is a big boi now! That tree has literally seen me growing up under its shade! It gives some really sweet and delicious mangoes every summer! And everytime I taste a mango from that tree, I instantly fly back to my childhood and relish the sweet memories of that evening! Now I have created a mini Orchard around that tree where I grow some really beautiful flowers and I have also put up a ladder that goes up to the tree where I climb up and just stare at the evening sun!
And one day you will get old, sitting on a bench under the same mango tree who was provided by your father, you remember your childhood, your parents and then your kid, a well lived life i would say.
I am 18 years old now. I planted one in my pot when I was 14 years old, I still remember that mango taste was so amazing that I decided to plant it. After 2 years it became so big that the pot broke and we planted it to the near ground of ours. At present moment it's almost double my height. I am proud to be the owner of a sweet tall mango tree in my area.
I think we need to appreciate how much time and effort this person puts in these videos for us to watch within like 3 minutes vs it being a whole year for this person
For the people wondering why it didn't grow a mango. Fruit trees when they are first planted take about 2-3 years (maybe longer) to bare their first fruit. The plant needs to be mature and have the right environmental situations.

I know it's a mango tree. But watching this made me realize how we take the little things for granted. I almost shed a tear when I saw the tree growing so massively. It was beautiful.
I started growing a mango tree in August, mid September I brought it to my room. I even put like 12-15 worms in the bucket I was growing it in. I watered it and fed it compost daily. Finally on April 1st I decided to bring it back outside for some fresh air. On April 3rd we got a surprise cold front from Canada that brought sleet, shortly after it died. Moral of the story is, If you live in Connecticut, Move somewhere warmer.
Lol, years ago my mom grew me a miniature Orange tree from seed. It was about 16 inches tall and would sprout tiny immature fruits. I'm in Canada, one day I noticed my little tree (indoors of course) was infested with tiny gnats. Clever me thought to put the plant outside in the cold wind for about 60 seconds to get rid of the gnats. I did so and then the phone rang. Two hours later I remembered my tree, it had no bugs now, just miniature icicles. I'm an idiot.
Cool video! I’m Indian American. I grew up in South India. My grand parents grow mangoes. As kids , we used to eat mangoes and throw the seeds with the outer shell. in the ground; it used to grow. We just cut off that plant otherwise it will grow into very big wide tree. Also if buy a mango and we really like the taste then we would plant the seed. It takes years before it will yield fruits.
I do this all the time, mango trees have good roots that hold the soil together so I like to plant them along the river bank near me and around my suburb. In future generations people can enjoy the fruit and the big trees can look after the land 😀

@@Deep_chocolate Yes, I'm sure many of us could take inspiration from this & use plants that are native to our own country to do something useful to help nature, even if it is only in a very small way, for instance something small that we plant in a back yard or grow in a pot on a balcony. Everything adds up. How we manage any area in our care is important. What to some people is just a patch of "weeds" can be a hugely important resource for insect life like butterflies, etc., & that affects birds & other creatures in turn. I know of an area that has got more natural & it astonishes me how it teems with life compared with what it used to be like! There is a buddleia bush that gets loads of butterflies visiting when it flowers. Let's think about what is native to our local environment, as these are part of the ecology there, typically more so than the plants we often move round the world. My best friend had a huge tree in the middle on his backyard. It was almost as wide as his house and everyday we could collect a ton of full red mangos. The best mangos I’ve tasted in my life omg they were so damn sweet.

I've had mangos for years and never once have I thought to "open" the tough middle bit to see the seed. Always assumed that the whole tough part was the seed like a strange plum or peach.
people in the comment section have to understand that they're growing a TREE, not just an ordinary plant. it takes *years* to grow a fully-matured mango tree. not to mention its growth rate depends on the environment. the one on the video grows slow because it's placed in a small pot, obviously they will have to move it to a bigger pot for it to grow properly.

My Grandma has planted a mango tree 5 years ago it's not fully grown adult tree with thick trunk and all but it blossoms flowers but it hasn't got to the point where an actual ripe mango has grown on it yet so to all the people disappointed from the lack of fruit on that tree have some patience trees need to grow properly to blossom flowers and bear fruits

For anyone thinking about growing a mango tree, you need to understand that these trees grow to around 30 metres high or more! They are everywhere in the tropics of Northern Australia, which is where we live.
Right! Don't think they d manage outside, here in the UK, except maybe Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. Thirty metres is some neight! Northern Australia is enough info for me.

I just discovered I have the green thumb lol, I also planted mango,I live in Illinois and ik winter gets freezing and tropical plants will die,so I’ll leave it in my house for winter with a LED light, or whatever that light is called for plants,main point here is thank you so much for making these videos, I really appreciate that and not a lot of people do that,but you did! I also planted oranges,lemon,peach, and apples! I know it will take years for it to happen but it’s ok, it’s fun to plant in my opinion!!
It is incredible fun and also magical to see when, if really it grows, all the results shows you did good to be kind and nurturing to the plants. You have no idea how many times I tried to grow mango from seed And they all died because of the mold. It was really exciting for me to see this video Especially with the music in the background Almost to tears.. magic.
@@adamsoldier9898 Less/less frequent water is probably the solution. Smaller pots can also help avoid rot while getting seedlings established as they dry out faster and your seedling doesn’t have the rootball for a big pot anyway, if you’re using any. If it’s germination issues, make sure if it’s sitting in water to germinate that you swap the water out. Stagnant water won’t always kill your plants, but it can; just look at how much stuff grew in them 2 weeks; that’s just stuff you can see. Think about all the bacteria and fungi trying to attack the young seedling. You also get very poor oxygen flow to the taproot once it has sprouted if it is not quickly planted, which can lead to it essentially being a goner from the get-go.
@@kevinkearney4187 i've tried these methods in the past i've watched too many videos about mango germination, my problem with mango seeds is the fruits i buy in my city are of bad quality, the seeds inside already have some molds(black spots) on them which you cant prevent..., i also tired cleaning them with hydrogin peroxide but didnt work.

I bought a mango from a supermarket about 6 months ago. The stone was split open and I could see the seed so I decided to have a go at getting it to germinate. I put it in a plastic bag with some wet tissue paper. I took a while for any root to appear but it did eventually and I planted it in some compost. It is really slow growing, after 6 months its about three inches tall with 3-4 leaves. It looks healthy but it is so slow at growing. I just thought mangos were slow to grow. I'm not expecting it to make any fruit here in the UK, although based on this years hot summer it might do. I would just like it as an ornamental tree.
A while back I threw a mango eaten down to the seed into my grandma’s garden and it grew into a plant just being there. Stayed strong till the seasons changed

I read that worms when they don't have enough dead substrate start attacking living matter, like roots. Sounds very risky.

I just discovered I have the green thumb lol, I also planted mango,I live in Illinois and ik winter gets freezing and tropical plants will die,so I’ll leave it in my house for winter with a LED light, or whatever that light is called for plants,main point here is thank you so much for making these videos, I really appreciate that and not a lot of people do that,but you did! I also planted oranges,lemon,peach, and apples! I know it will take years for it to happen but it’s ok, it’s fun to plant in my opinion!!
It is incredible fun and also magical to see when, if really it grows, all the results shows you did good to be kind and nurturing to the plants. Sustainable always and it will reward in soooo many ways people.

@@adamsoldier9898 Less/less frequent water is probably the solution. Smaller pots can also help avoid rot while getting seedlings established as they dry out faster and your seedling doesn’t have the rootball for a big pot anyway, if you’re using any.
If it’s germination issues, make sure if it’s sitting in water to germinate that you swap the water out. Stagnant water won’t always kill your plants, but it can; just look at how much stuff grew in them 2 weeks; that’s just stuff you can see. Think about all the bacteria and fungi trying to attack the young seedling. You also get very poor oxygen flow to the taproot once it has sprouted if it is not quickly planted, which can lead to it essentially being a goner from the get-go.
@@kevinkearney4187 i've tried these methods in the past i've watched too many videos about mango germination, my problem with mango seeds is the fruits i buy in my city are of bad quality, the seeds inside already have some molds(black spots) on them which you cant prevent..., i also tired cleaning them with hydrogin peroxide but didnt work.

my Two mangotrees are living almost 3 Years with almost no problem Location in Luxembourg (living Room Winter / Summer time outside )

I bought a mango from a supermarket about 6 months ago. The stone was split open and I could see the seed so I decided to have a go at getting it to germinate. I put it in a plastic bag with some wet tissue paper. I took a while for any root to appear but it did eventually and I planted it in some compost. It is really slow growing, after 6 months its about three inches tall with 3-4 leaves. It looks healthy but it is so slow at growing. I just thought mangos were slow to grow. I'm not expecting it to make any fruit here in the UK, although based on this years hot summer it might do. I would just like it as an ornamental tree.
I also planted a mango tree with seed 1.5 months ago. Now it is 8 inches long with 12 leaves btw i live in india.
A while back I threw a mango eaten down to the seed into my grandma’s garden and it grew into a plant just being there. Stayed strong till the seasons changed

Sad news the plant probably died or something, it says that there will be an update video in 2023 february but i checked the videos in the channel and i couldnt find the mango plant update.

Okay, while we are at it, I‘m gonna do this as an Motivational purpose and see how far I’ve came. I‘m currently 23 and I‘m really tryna sustain a life where I can care about my very own garden and my mental health. Maybe have a lil compound, nothing too crazy. And a wife I can trust and build something upon with. I don’t need no crazy cars clothes or a big house. All those things don’t mean nothing to me. I just seek for better qualities in life. And maybe some Peace too. I‘ma hang in there and make my 4 year older me proud.
