Bcm 14.5 is my dream rifle. Cant afford it yet but ive been able to shoot a few various setups that i like. Glad to see you play around with this idea!
Yeah the 14.5 just seems like a length that makes a lot of sense and checks a lot of boxes.
Not bragging, but I have 4 conplete BCM rifles. 16 ELW, 14.5 BFG, 11.5 BFG and another 11.5 ELW. Still my favorites guns to shoot. And I have some others POF, Maxim Defense, Rifle Dynamics, MK12 Precision Reflex. For some unexplained reasons, I’m still getting back to BCM. I didn’t want to go with DD although I had the meanings. I can guarantee, you won’t be disappointed.

When you pie corners, go as wide as possible. To get better angles, and we all know bad guys have storm trooper aim.

Another good option is the BCM ELW 14.5” P&W’d to 16”. It is only 3” longer than the 11.5”.

I have a few bcm riffles. Its hard to beat them for the price and quality. I just built a 6mm arc with a bcm mk2 upper. I have a pws mod 2 lower on it. That riffle is amazing. Everything i shoot is surpressed. I really like my bcm's

I personally wouldn't use an LPVO for Home Defense. If you want the option for magnification, I think going with a red dot/magnifier combo is best or maybe use a 2x or 3x prism. But that is just my opinion. I'm also not an "expert". I've opted to (partially) build an 8" 300BLK pistol and I just have a Holosun 512CGD on it. But then again, I don't have a very large house. It's a 1 story ranch style built in the '60s and just under (or maybe over, I don't remember) 1100 sq ft. I also just added a B&T 7.62 SF can to it.

The 1x on my lpvo is actually really nice. True 1x no very little distortion and lightweight. Only 16 ounces compared to other brands that are 23 ounces. Also this leupold has a large FOV. Both eyes open are no issue at all. Also has a red dot center.
