While I do agree that the decision to have the punch slow in the middle of its arc is unusual, I hypothesize that it was in order to emphasize that rather than throwing a simple punch, he is simultaneously "pulling" the cross that comes from behind him, into the monster. Like his arm suddenly pulled taut on an invisible rope. It might be more accurate to suggest that he "flung" the cross at the monster with the strength of his punch. That's how I interpreted it, anyway. As always, super interesting videos. Love you!
You know, you might be right! It also makes it feel a bit more erratic, which could emphasize the weight of the cross! Let's let it slide for now, just like that big cross did
man, the way in how you break down, analyse, critique and even readjust some of the poses in these scenes for examples was incredibly CLEAN, absolutely loved this episode of AAA :D
I love animation but don't watch a lot of anime myself. These video's are fantastic, it's such a great point for point look at what makes animation impactful. Especially in a medium that is novel to me.
4:25 to counter this argument, he went left then right at 0:50

I prefer the original. My eyes feel more relaxed. Don't forget that viewers eye movement is affected by that pop movement.

Thank you! Might be a good one for the future too, upgrading animations! :)
everytime i see your videos pop into my feed it takes up my brain for the night and then i cant stop thinking about animation. thanks for these!
I always love a breakdown of Yutaka Nakamura's work. Battlefront blood blockade has excellent content for analysis :)
Your channel deserves more love
Loving these videos. This channel is definitely going to pop off in no time, great stuff!
You're an awesome person and clearly very talented; (weather you believe it or not) keep it up. Love you're stuff and your attitude about everything.
That's so nice, thank you a lot
I appreciate your reminder on the main peg channel! I honestly forgot to sub the first time but now have lots of content to pour through!
Great!
Commenting for engagement because you make some of the best content on TH-cam and its criminally underrated
Phenomenal video! The changes made to scissor seven looked really great!
Thank you! Hope you learned a lot!
Great video! Love your content!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Lots of love back!
When breaking down the first scene you didn’t mention how his grip magically change while holding the sword. Impossible transition.

I love animation but don't watch a lot of anime myself.

Commenting to help with the algorithm but when will the 3rd strike video be uploaded again?
On may 18th! Thanks for coming back :)
Love ya stuff
I swear Nakamura sensei is a god reincarnated as an animator lol
BBB not being clear enough was always my issue with it. Seems like it had a cool premise, but I didn't want to spend the energy understanding it
I guess that translated to the animation as well? But my only little nitpick was the arm though, the rest was pretty awesome
this guy loves animation or something ;)
Can't get enough of that animation tho
Please watch BBB
Right now I'm right into Demon slayer S3 and Ousama Rankings! I might have to at some day though!
