You can try it, but you may have to upgrade the motor too. Mine is working flawlessly with the plastic original style gear.

$50.00 for the motor on Amazon, your $7 gear + the time & effort probably ends up same.
Yea, I think it depends on the direction you go in.
The Gruven site clearly indicates that you need to buy a new motor from them to prevent the grounding issue. At least it does now, lol. I wonder if this video inspired that warning.
It may have, but it was cheaper to get another gear that was correct. It has been working great ever since.

Also - if you use a long bolt with a washer on the bottom and a scoket on top thas spring goes on a lot easier.

How do i set it up where i auto fold them with locking the door
I don't think you can do that with them folding, ,just the mirror going down when you put it in reverse. But you can check your menu settings on the dash.

Name of those to metal pieces holding the new gear in place rotate. N where can i get a replacement if i lost 1
I would say they are bearings, but I did not need them so I am not sure.
