Also, rip DGWT. I liked it better than the pro tour when it came out due to the better graphics and presentation. Today, I have a greater appreciation for the Pro Tour while it is flourishing and is pressuring the PDGA to grow/modernize/professionalize the sport.

Thank you very much Jamie, Eagle and SpinTV. But I want to (once again!) raise the issue about the constant use of feet instead of metres. ALL measurements and specifications in Disc Golf are in metres. It's a 10 metre circle. Why call it "33 feet" when it's sitting on the edge of the 10 metre circle? o_O I mean seriously - you have to start using the proper systems of measurement SOME TIME - so why not make it NOW? You could start by adding metres to the hole descriptions, so that instead of only one country's residents knowing what 397 feet actually is, *everyone* would know. I mean, you are aware, right - that the vast majority of the world's population has absolutely no idea what measurements in feet equate to???? Whenever I see some long hole which is, say, 545 feet - I have to go to google and type in "545ft in m" and get my result - which is 166 metres. 545 feet means diddly squat - and failing to add the proper distances in metres is akin to saying "Fuck You" to the rest of the world. Yes, I understand this IS the *US* DGC, but COME ON - you have an international audience!

The popularity of disc golf is growing in the world and especially in Europe, and pretty much every country excluding US uses the metric system.

Avery did some Facebook Live during the competition phase and the showcase (DGWT facebook), and I believe some of the competitors posted videos to social media as well. Unfortunately all hands are tied as soon as the footage comes in with post-production so we can't (yet) cover it in full. I do hope one day to be able to do that.
Average commentary at best by Avery. I understand that he's the "expert analyst" but his commentary is nothing more than play-by-play. It would be nice to hear more insight on the shot shapes, disc selection, technique, etc. from a top level player. I get that the guests kind of do that, but the so-so commentary makes these videos with Avery commentating hard to watch.
At the pace this is cut there are no time to do that. I don't mind a bit longer cuts, discgolf isn't the fastest of sports anyway :) #iwantmysmashboxxtv
Sexton needs a freaking Espy for best DG commentary. His work with Spin and CCDG has always been phenomenal! Avery is obviously an expert, but he is quite dry and matter-of-fact.

Idk for how much time it takes and no live coverage and we can't get 4k quality? Call me ungrateful but much smaller events have had much better production than this
4k workflow is too intense to output quickly unfortunately. File sizes/bitrate are massive. It's my personal opinion as well that 4k is highly overrated, especially when put through TH-cam compression.
I think the audio engineer mixed him a little loud. If his mic wasn't quite as hot it would be fine. He sounds like he's yelling but if he had had the Jomez crew mixing him he'd sound fine
Good coverage. It is just not fun to have essentially Paul's sponsored network (Innova's player, Innova's channel) doing the commentary. It felt like AJ was babying Paul's round so far talking about the wind, weather etc. every time Paul had a bad throw. To be clear, on his worst day Paul could beat the snot out of me on my best day. But it's just not fun to hear his sponsored commentators cushioning his performance when he is having an off day. I am with @Disc_Golf_Nerd that there needs to be more proliferated coverage of the DGWT events. Competition breeds quality and I'm sorry but this is not the only card I want to watch!
Well, it wouldn't be apropriate to kick Paul while he's down. I remind y'all that he has upped so many players' games. He works hard and puts in the time and effort in practice. We all love an underdog, but that shouldn't mean we enjoy watching the mighty fall just for the lulz.
He almost was in the circle. I watched a ton of players drive this hole today, and no one got even close to where Eagle did. He was probably 200 feet farther up the fairway than the next guy.
The other commentator ( not eagle) must be the best disc golfer god has ever created. The way he comments. Lol. .. back in the day we would just hyzer it on the beach. Avery is awesome, he's an excellent teacher! I'mnsure he just needs a bit more experience, but he definitely talks more than most commentators. I didn't even notice until others mentioned, and it's not an issuem. I'm thankful that people like A.J. spend their time doing this =)
To think this is the product Jussi chose for promoting the sport. Avery?!? Really?? The US Open should have live coverage. It makes me hope the DGWT fails as The Pro Tour takes off.

Why is Seppo not wearing a collared shirt? I thought this was a mandatory for major PDGA sanctioned tournaments. Aside from that, those tube socks have to go! This is the biggest event in disc golf and the sport needs to provide the best image possible to potential sponsors.
I think it's hilarious to see Eagle and Ken playing together now. Ken was winning world titles literally when Eagle was born.

Good call on adding the bullseye for statistical purposes. Makes the putting percentages much truer.
I like it as well, it's similar to the "Parked" stat on DGPT, so it allows people to follow the pros across both tours with similar stats.

Luckily Eagle gave us some of that insight, but yeah on a course that is this open telling us what we're watching gets old.
