Some people don't really have a choice of when they shop, because, afternoon and night shifts exist. Most of the time people going in at those late hours are people working those shifts. They really don't want to be there anymore than you want them there, but it's usually the only time they have to do their shopping. Some people definitely do intentionally wait for there to be less people, though, and they definitely shouldn't be waiting for last minute. I get it though, nobody likes being stuck at work for longer than necessary.
You're not wrong though people really do suck. it really doesn't take too long working in any customer facing position to realize just how shit they can be, and usually are. always treating employees like crap. People who don't put things back where they belong drive me crazy. I make it a point to return things to where they belong if I'm shopping and notice some scumbag left something in a random place. People need to really learn that shit's not okay. I also take my cart all the way back into the damn store, because that's just the right thing to do. I took it out, I put it back. Simple, right? Not for most people apparently.

As long as people aren’t in the store or are done checking out I work in fast food and I don’t mind them just being there but the people that ask for stupid requests after we are closed is the most irritating thing.
