Not gonna lie. Edge had the hardest run in the entire tournament by far. He had to go through the LCQ, Nouman, Arslan, the Jon and then Atif back to back.
I'm ngl, I was a little fatigued from Tekken, but TWT this year and specifically Edge restored my faith in Tekken competitive. So many awesome players and hype plays and down to the wire sets, can't wait for season 2 to see how the game develops into its second year
Even though I felt i was not good enough for hwoarang and ditched him a long time ago, I still have so much love for him and root for him so much. Hwoarang needed edge and this TWT run, truly remarkable.
This match, ther other Edges's matches and Rangchu's saved the day and the tournamenent. I don't think people realise how much damage Dragunov did to season one for casual gamers like me. Soooo boring to watch. Thank you Phidx for the coverage and the focus videos.
IMO the entire top 16 really has left a positive note for S1 to end on. Like ik there's 4 Jins, but other than that the roster variety is genuinely incredible. We got Kazuya, Kuma, Xiaoyu, Zafina, Claudio, Shaheen, King, Hwoarang, Feng, Steve, Nina, and only 1 Drag. THIRTEEN unique characters at a top 16 that are mostly piloted by specialists. Even the Jins are all played by long-timers since at least the start of T7 (Book, CBM, Raef, DanielMado)
This Edge run will be talked about for a long time. Unfortunately the goofballs of the community will only see Hwoarang succeeding and screech about the character being OP cause they can't be bothered to hold block or learn how to step. Loving the tournament coverage Phi!
As usual Steve ended up bottom of top 16 with the best player piloting him. The issue is Steve is too fair and balanced of a character in a game where every top 16 players playing a character who is unfair and unbalanced in their own right. In tournaments you don't want fair play you want to exploit your opponents weaknesses as much as you can as well as get any unfair advantage you can get. Even Kuma whose lower on the tier lists has some sort of advantage like broken damage but Steve has lost his Ch launchers compared to top tiers no advanced mix ups and the stances he did receive any beginner can exploit after enough matches.
@@km7136you can duck the high, the launching mid is -13 and the homing mid Steve basically looses his turn its counter play to LH that’s the point Steve is too honest as a flame ruler Steve main
I'm gonna stick with waiting for Virtua Fighter for PC, tbh. That "Major balance changes" without saying what changes are going to come, and adding even more moves for juggles in a game where they are as long as eternity already are big red flags for me.

He was running the Pakistani gauntlet almost made it. But atif is a monster
And Kkokoma iirc
the ultimate kicks vs punches match
The strongest kicker in history versus the strongest puncher of today
classic hitmonlee vs hitmonchan
@@1kbmahan The one who will teach you about TEKKEN is...
Edge's twt run was immaculate to watch. Every match was on fire
FINAL
FINAL ROUND
ALMOST EVERY SINGLE EDGE FIGHT ON AN EDGE, CRAZY
4:29 Nah that might be one of the sickest looking combos in the game. Most backsways in Tekken look kinda weird, but this was just perfect.
Speed really appeared out of no where lmao
Steve vs Hwoarang might be my favourite matchup in all of tekken, maybe top 3 all fighting games
As a Steve player it’s always super fun to go against them
Their fight on the train tracks in the Tekken 5 intro is still burned in my mind
A great Steve player, always a treat for my eyes.
Nah they need to get PhiDX to commentate at events, this was so hype!

8:37 Bruh I went to look at discord Edge had a KILLER run this tournament
This was my favorite set of the stream! Loved the fast paced gameplay and real time adjustments made by both players, it was so cool to watch.
Having another steve God in Pakistan like Heera Malik is unfair. Their training sessions must be absolutely insane..
Absolute banger match. Both players are insane.
How can Hwoarang do that running shoulder power crush at 1:00 with basically two steps? Sometimes I’m full screen 3+ steps and barely can do it…
I'm wondering the same thing
He's switching to RFF to start the run instantly, that's how he gets the tackle so quickly.
@@badrmukhtar809 ok I see, thanks
@@badrmukhtar809Ayo that’s fucking tech
Im forever calling ovah here British Kenpo
I called it Caucasian Back Kenpo myself
The idea of every character having counter-play seems like the most important thing for long-term Tekken imo

hworang tracking is insane

LMAO! The eyes of the Tekken gods are always watching.😂
These guys reaction speed is beyond my comprehension

What a set
How u do the heat dash at 4:35?
8:36 I was like "who's calling me at 6 in the morning" lmao
I legit thought that discord ringtone came from my end lol
Steve is the character I'd want to play if I had skill
British Kempo is better than the original Kempo 😅
HE MIXED HIM TO PHHHUUCKING DEATH!!! 6:03
Based speedkicks hwoarang's are always fighting for their lives
Edge fought for his life. All the other characters have it so easy. Hwoarang feels like playing a t6 character in a t8 game.
It's a nailbiter.
This was good arse Tekken!
Counter hit Paragon didnt CH B1 once :(
Phidx and tasty_Steve on the same panel would be insane!!
damn phi lookin sharp in that suit
🔥🔥🔥
Man watching Edge mix the FUCK out of Numan in that last game makes me wanna pick up Hwoarang, ngl

hwoarang playesrs everyday struggle line got me...
now you know why Arslan placed boomrang soo high.
still waiting for the videos on rangchu his defense was masterclass this TWT
Buff Steve a little and see the magic
First balance adjustment should be fixing Steve's face
Edge made the tournament easier by eliminating the most challenging players
it was a good set but an amazing tourny
Keep him time N.CH. will be a beast
Am i the only one, who gets a feeling, that the video is slowed down a bit?
What happened to heera malik? I thought he was touted by the community to be the best Steve ?

Sorry but Nouman Ch is not the best Steve player. Heera is way better than him.
@@muhtadaali8847 i do agree with you but numan is also an exceptional steve player
Having a defensive back step that dodges almost anything into a launch and a guard break doesn't sound that remarkably fair

Morning PhidX
British Kenpo is good. But The Caucasian Kenpo is better no? HAHAHA
I think they should just put Phi on commentary instead of the normal guys.
Damn some of your chat was insufferable during this phi 😬
First DLC season 2 wil be christie monteiro!

Nerf Steve and Devil Jin
Hwoarang is so cheap
yo mama cheap
Heera malik is the best steve…
Its sad to see the current state of Tekken. Its become more of a "You Miss I Hit" kinda game really. Less Skills, more random mashing..
"you miss i hit"... you mean... whiff punishes?
This is sarcasm right?
Is it really random mashing if you get hit for missing?
this gotta be a troll

Who wanted Anna ? Anna should be a second costume for Nina😂
