"Mein Teil" is heavy fare! This song is about the "Cannibal of Rotenburg" in Germany. Two men have met and arranged through a cannibal forum on the Internet, one to be slaughtered and eaten ....

    • @mariodriessen9740
      @mariodriessen9740 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

But only one very specific part, wasn't it? Or am I wrong here?

    • @Freakinger81
      @Freakinger81 2 ปีที่แล้ว +40

@@mariodriessen9740 That was the first part and they tried to eat it together. But they fried it in a Pan and it got way too dry and hard to eat. But it was not the only part, Meiwes ate more and did even freeze some of them for later consumption. This case is so bizarre, because nothing happened that they both didnt wanted. Armin Meiwes even met some other Guys before that, for the same reason, but they got cold feet and instead of going through with it, he did just let them go, because he didnt want to do it with someone who wasnt willing to be part of it.

@@Freakinger81 : Intriguing! Unbelievable. There must be something really wrong when you not only think about something as horrific, but even go as far as to actually do it! 😳
This is mind boggling. I mean, after that first part (forget the frying and the eating), this man must have had terrible pains. Not only when they ‘did the job’, but every person has to pee a couple of times a day, right? I don’t think he would’ve gone to the hospital…. Just HOW?!?! 😳😳😳

    • @Freakinger81
      @Freakinger81 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@mariodriessen9740 He was under the influence of sleeping pills and some other stuff, but still... I would say he suffered through some unbelievable pain before it all was done, yes. Why anybody would want to do this is just beyond every mentally healthy person.

Christoph Schneider is the unsung hero of Rammstein. He´s the dynamic force (as a drummer should be) and his drumming is so substantial to their song´s dynamic and energy. But then again they are all great and their chemistry is admirable. I love the fact that they held together personally and artistically over such a long time and through all the struggles that come naturally with 6 strong equal members. What a band.

    Hello Aileen,
this time it's not only art. The story they are telling really happened!
It was in germany where Armin Meiwes, the "Kannibale von Rotenburg",
met Jürgen Brandes. Meiwes wanted to eat someone and Brandes wanted to
be eaten by someone. It is as bizarre as it sounds, they both agreed to do this.
Meiwes is in jail for the rest of his life and Rammstein brought this creepy story on stage.
    Greetings from German,
    Klaus

He was disappointed but immediately agreed and caused that guy no harm at all. And the guy he did end up killing was up for it, so I don't get why he went to prison for a consensual act.

Couldn´t agree more: this is an experience! A sensorial experience! I don´t think "Radio" is a controversial song (unlike some other songs and live performances like "Buck Dich") but it can get blocked because it´s official video. Only their official LIVE videos like live in Paris or Madison Square Garden don´t get blocked. Try the amazing "Sonne" live in Paris. It´s one of their older and biggest hits and IMO has one of the best, if not the best, guitar riffs ever! Great reaction!

I really would suggest that with Rammstein songs, you just do a quick search to find the inspiration for each track - there are real events/poems/novels/life experiences and more behind every song. It will honestly make the experience of listening better if you have the gist of it at least before you start.

Also he once made the mistake of holding on to the kettle for support while climbing out and he skinned his fingers on the hot metal, which was kinda inconvenient at the start of a tour.

There’s little things I’ve picked up too. Before Till fires the flame thrower, he kicks his body/head back momentarily to give Flake his cue that he’s about to 🔥 the pot. There’s actually a lot of these little things throughout their shows you can notice if you pay attention that even though they are putting on this incredible show, they are all very well aware of the dangers and look out for each other.
There is a clip of a live Feuer Frei performance that makes me laugh every time I see it, and it shows their engagement with each other and how even other band members’ commitment to the act can surprise Till.

I dont know if someone told the story behind this song. Here in germany is happen a very famous criminal case in 2001. A man met up another man for canibalism. The man who was killed gave the agreement to the other man to be killed and be eaten. And the most obscure story, the first part which was eaten were the genitals. "Mein Teil" means "My Part" in englisch and is in german a meaning for dick.

Nice reaction. The song is based on the real case of a cannibal in Germany: The so called "Cannibal of Rotenburg".
The text at the beginning of the song was the original classified advertisment in a newspaper where the Cannibal of Rotenburg searched for a young man to eat.
One man replied to the ad, they met and the young man was eaten by the cannibal Armin Meiwes.
Rammstein are playing often with the many double meanings that an expression or a word can have in the German language.
Mein Teil can simply mean my part. But it can also mean "My P*nis".
    My recommendation for a reaction:
The band "Die Kreatur" and their song "Die Kreatur".
    Greetings
    Mega

Der Metzgermeister (The Masterbutcher) was a nickname of Armin Maives in a chatroom for cannibals. In this chatroom he find a man who want‘s to slaughtered. He amputatet the penis of that man and they eaten it together with a bottle of wine and candles. „Mein Teil“ means in english „my part“ and is german slang for my penis. After they eaten, Armin Meives killed the man, hacked hin into pieces and eat him from time to time. The refrain „denn du bist was du isst“ is a proverb. In english „you are what you eat“. It means when you eat good food, you are a good Human. it is a very old saying that rich people wanted to use to distinguish themselves from the lower class. I hope that i could help you to understand the lyrics better.

Hi and very lovely and VERY early morning from Finland.
Wanted to see you reactions in here but Dimash or Band-Maid isn't sitting on my ears that well that I'd see those reacts.
Sorry about that. Pretty much any genre is for me so it small chance that you do react "Not my kind" of music. Hope to see/hear from you soon.
BTW if you are planning on live streaming either YT or Twitch, let me know.
    Huge mental hugs from Finland

They actually have a song in Spanish called Te Quiero Puta. I'm not fluent in Spanish so the whole song didn't make sense to me, I only caught bits and pieces. I imagine translating German into Spanish is pretty difficult!!

@@AileenSenpai They only sing the song live in Spanish speaking countries. Best to hear the album version of it as when performed live they have the crowd sing all the verses so you won't be able to hear much as the live videos aren't too good quality

    Lyrics: [English version]
Looking for a well-built eighteen to thirty-year-old to be slaughtered
    The Master Butcher
Today I will meet a gentleman
He likes me so much he could eat me up
Soft things and even hard ones
    Are on the menu
    Because you are
    What you eat
    And you know
    What it is
It is my part - no
    My part - no
Because that's my part - no
    My part - no
The dull blade - good and proper
I'm bleeding heavily and feeling sick
Although I have to fight to stay awake
I keep eating while in convulsions
    It's just so well seasoned
    And so nicely flambéed
And so lovingly served on porcelain
And with it, a good wine and gentle candlelight
    Yeat, I'll take my time
You've got to have some culture
    Because you are
    What you eat
    And you know
    What it is
It is my part - no
    My part - no
Because that's my part - no
Yes it's my part - no
A cry will ascend to heaven
It will cut through hosts of angels
    Feather-flesh will shriekingly fall
From the top of the clouds into my childhood
It is my part - no
    My part - no
Because that's my part - no
    My part - no

Also, this song is based on a real "Metzgemeister" that put out an ad to eat people.

Just in case you did not know. The song is about a case of cannibalism in germany a while back, where somebody who was dying very soon allowed a cannibal to cut off his penis, fried it and they both did eat it. With "mein Teil" is his (male) part meant.
Rammstein does all sorts of songs, and lots of them, where the topics are topics which other bands usually do not touch.
By the way. Flake ist pronounced Fla ke with an "a" which is slightly longer spoken as the other letters; like Flahke. I hope this helps.
