      Okay, I finally got to finish it, WHOA.... dude... this was beyond what I was expecting from you! I remember in your first essence video, you said you'd talk about the vines in more detail in the future, but THIS REALLY took me by surprise!! The idea is that not only was it a sentient creature/"monster," but it had been subjugated and domesticated into the vines we see in the modern age of mechs and machinery!
      I thought that the vines were simply a "natural magical phenomenon." I never considered that they were a natural creature... that literally eats essence!! (Totally metal btw) It all just makes so much sense now... and I'm blown away by the clever deep thought lore you've created. It doesnt at all feel like you're making this up, it actually feels like lore that we could discover in our own (mystical) world. The idea of mechs and essence feels just a bit more tangible, and I love it!!! 🎉❤

    From creepy, parasitic plants, to monks learning to control it, to those who remained after rebellion using their knowledge to make the first tree mechs. Damn what a story!

    This is such a cool bit of backstory! I love the parallel to Mendel's peas - i.e., Monk gets bored and starts to experiment with breeding plants, leading to unforeseen insights. Intentional or not, it definitely shows how close this is to what actual historical monks would do with their free time!
    Also, it foreshadows awesome story beats in the future - where we could find a last surviving splinter of the formerly great monk order in an old derelict ruin, and then proceed to witness their mythical understanding of the vines first-hand!

    This is getting better every video. I'm creating a low fantasy world myself, and a wargame/rpg with it.
    I don't know your personal process...while mine is more generalistic on factions, magic and culture because I need to leave space for the Rpg aspect, I tend to focus more on the armies, in order to give fuel for the wargaming.
    With all that said, I must admit that you're such a creative person, the details and lore behing one single aspect (vine control), so many branches(😂) pop up, making it feel so plausible e believable. Keep up the good work my friend! Hope all the best, and take your time, you're giving us treasure, so keep your "essence" in healthy levels!

    Really like this, but I think there should flesh mechs has an answer to the vine mechs or some form of essence-enhanced equipment. Technological races are usually a thing, I don't think other ppl would just sit around and let one country take the forefront.

    • @Tree.lancer
      @Tree.lancer  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sure, vines would start to propagate to other countries, unless they objected to their use and had their own answers to the mechs, like Hecaxe and it's soul engine machinery, which is something I need to expand upon on a future video :)

    • @melancholyman369
      @melancholyman369 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Tree.lancer Nice, but it shouldn't be similar to Plantbois. Hecaxe have soul engines (everyone seems to have low-tech guns which is cool) but what about western countries they got their guns from? These guys are seeing Aztecs with magic armour with rifles, Vine Mechs with strong industry, how would they react? Would they try to go into checmical warfare, really try for alchemy or would they try to emulate vine tech but substitute plant material for meat?
      I don't want to seem pushy or anything, your work is really cool and it got me thinking is all.

    beautiful video, but I was left with some questions, these monks if they are able to control the vines and manage to re-establish their essence through meditation do not in fact become one of the most powerful "civilizations" in the world as they manage to control the vessels of what is essentially the magic of this world, or perhaps they are simply magicians of sorts who study these vines for pure research purposes. I understand that since there are only a few of them left, they don't pose much of a threat but they still remain incredibly powerful. If I misunderstood something, don't hesitate to correct me, I'm very open to any opinions or clarifications❤❤
