    They still make the Rigid Tool Pipe wrench in Elyria, Ohio. On Clark St. Still comes with the life time guarantee. Just bought one not long ago just as good as when I was making them 40yr ago. Except the paint is better today...Ha Ha...

    Congratulations John! My name is Fernando and I am doing a research to record a video for my channel here in Brazil comparing 12 brands of pipe wrench, and I recently discovered the incomparable quality of the Rigdig keys. I fell in love with your Ridgid collection. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

    It seems that tool companies back in the day built their tools like tanks and took more pride in their products. Great job they look great 👍

      In Germany we have Gedore and Knipex wrenches . At my work on a drilling rig we use only Ridgid wrenches, they are the best Tools for the work.

      There were cheap tools too but nobody bothered to hang on to them so only the cream of the crop was passed on or sold away at garage sales when their owners didn't need them anymore.

    Great info on the Ridgid wrenches... wish you would show how you did the Vise Grip... l’ve passed on buying a few US made ones due to the finish being in similar condition.

    • @johnfix1
      @johnfix1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the compliment. I was restoring a couple of wrenches but best I can remember the Vise-Grip was cleaned up and shined using a medium wire wheel on my bench grinder followed up by polishing with Flitz metal polish..

      Thank you T-Wrecks. The paint is Dupli-Color engine enamel. Chevrolet Orange DE1620. I got it at Auto-Zone.

    2:57 brings out the Crescent pipe wrench. For the most part Ridgid made the wrenches for Crescent & others. After all why not have the expert make it & avoid all that reverse engineering?

    Nice restorations. The orange color really stands out and looks great. Do you brush on the paint or spray it. Also the history of the tools are very interesting.

      Thank you Frank. It's spray paint made by Dupli-Color. Chevrolet orange engine enamel.
