How to unlock all the new Piffle Characters in Crossy Road:
To unlock Marmalade, collect one of each item in the same game.
Also, make sure you hit the pineapple truck (not the truck hits you) and it should unlock Pineapple.

I don't know why they made you unlock a chacter by hitting the pineapple truck and it's most of the time not there and you see it when you die.

I keep dying and I was searching for the pineapple truck and everytime I die that truck appears I was so close! But then when I was playing and I was daydreaming I saw a pineapple truck pass by me. So I quickly ran to the left the hit the pineapple truck! The pineapple truck almost left me and I almost missed to hit the pineapple truck!!

Marmalade should be attainable just by collecting items. Just keep collecting and you should unlock the character. I don’t think the required number is very high.

Make sure you hit the truck, don’t let the truck hit you. And it should work.
