  • Enemy Within (2003) - The Ivory Coast was once the pride of Africa, leading the way with its fledgling democracy and growing prosperity. Now it lies on the cusp of civil war, its economy in tatters.

A man cowers in a small hovel, too scared to reveal his face. Pro-government militia bulldozed his town, leaving him homeless. He is just one of millions displaced by the recent unrest. The Ivory Coast is ruled by the Christian south, who manipulate nationality laws to prevent their northern rivals gaining power. The government used to buy and sell the cocoa crop but the World Bank forced them to stop. Farmers were left at the mercy of international markets and millions saw their incomes plummet. Now two thirds of the population are unemployed. The people are angry and Muslims from the north, foreigners and sinister multinationals are being blamed.

About the bombing of the French military camp in Bouake in Nov, 2004, it was the Byelorussians pilots who bombed the camp.
President Gbagbo was forced to get some war plane from Belorussia to reunite his country divided by the French army to so called maintain the peace.
During the failed coup d'état of September 2002, France president Chirac order President Gbagbo to stop the Ivoirian army who were chasing the rebels running back to the north and Burkina Faso of Compaore where they were trained. In doing so, Chirac prevented the Ivorian army to capture all the rebels and imposed negotiation a the only was to resolve this issue and refused to apply the defense accords between France and Ivory Coast because it was an internal conflict among Ivorians despite the facts that the rebels came from Burkina Faso and had some citizen of Burkina Faso among them.
Back to the bombing of the French camp in November 2004 … France refused the investigation proposed by the Ivorian army and disregard President Gbagbo saying he didn't give the order to bomb the French military camp. He said to a French journalist "You can at least agree on the fact that I'm not stupid to order that my army bomb the French camp."
The French refused to interrogate the Byelorussians pilots who bombed their camp twice. First in the Ivory Coast when the Ivorian army wanted to hand them over, and the second time in Togo, at the airport in Lomé when the security informed the French that they had the pilots.
All the French government did was rolling their tanks to Gbagbo Presidential Palace to arrest him which led the Ivorian People to take the street and surround their president Residence and the French military base which is in Abidjan since 1961. The French army killed more than an hundred unarmed civilians in Abidjan in the events that lasted several days.
Please watch these videos of the events produced by a French media in search of the truth.

Identity politics rearing it's head all over a disenfranchised world. Brother fighting brother when the real enemy is the money system and those that control it. Those that profit from our misery and conflict.

alot of underhanded anti-capitalist and anti-christian comments, not exactly following the true narrative of the situation in the country, but i suppose shouldn't be surprised seeing these even if it is from 2003. some things never change.
