Great demonstration of the versatility of the Summit. I just had my Phase III crack (second one to crack) and I was looking for a "New Look", the Summit was on my Radar and haven't seen to many bowlers with it in their bag. Its on the way!
Love this ball. I was worried that it might be too strong. It wasnt....averaged 200 out of the box using an outside approach throwing down the 10 board from 12-13 at the posts. Rolled 20 pins above avg. later in the day in league. When it hit the pocket at about 13.5-13.8mph...crushed it all day. Love this ball!
We had a guy here in Clarksville throw 747 with the Summit. I think he did change the surface a little, not sure. He has described it as a game changer, and to hear Darren say it would likely be great for low rev speed dominant bowlers gets me excited.
I don't have a favorite bowling ball says Darren Tang..... Also Darren Tang I drilled three pitch blacks for this block. Two pen up one shorter then the other and a pen down.... Lol Love you videos

So I do have a question, as a bowler with decent revs and an average ball speed between 16 to 18 mph my current symmetrical ball I have is the night road and it has been taking a beating, do you think the summit is a good ball for a replacement? Both of those balls are gonna wanna be used later when the lanes broke down a little. You need something like the summit or similar in strength for the fresh oil when starting your 1st game
I, a 2 handed bowler, just returned to bowling after 6 weeks of recovery (broke my ring finger). Since returning, I've noticed that my game has changed, and I don't know if it's a good thing. My revs (I believe) have gone down, and my forearm/wrist are cupping the ball as I release it, which I don't think I used to do. I have Jr Gold Nationals next month, what are some things I can do to help regain what I've lost?
Well your story adds up, my understanding is that the middle finger is kind of just there to help guide the ball and your revs mostly come from your ring finger so having not used your ring finger for over a month it would make sense that it’s weaker and losing you revs.
It’s my first hybrid ball and is now my new bench mark ball. Absolutely amazing ball just a little tricky to get used to how strong it is if you aren’t used to strong balls alike
@2AGunner that's good to know I need a strong symmetrical so I might get it and I assume it will be very strong so I might drill it a bit weaker than my other strong asymmetrical balls
Just have to let it heal on its own, stop bowling until it's better unfortunately. I remember when I strained my thumb muscle, I couldn't bowl for 2 months
Love the channel Darren. You clearly have great knowledge of the game and throw a great ball. However, the know it all, cocky attitude (played off as playful) is a little cringey and isn’t very endearing to say the least. Always trying to show up other dedicated bowlers, like Luis Napoles and Anthony here. Just relax, you’re doing great. You’re a great ambassador for bowling. Keep up the good work Darren and Jesse!

RG=radius of gyration. The smaller the number the easier it is to spin, or like they say rev faster

Mostly to take advantage of oil patterns so you can hit the pocket with a wider margin of error.
Lets see you bowl on WOOD lanes using real WOOD pins with a 16 pound rubber ball from 1968.

Torn between the Revenant and the Summit :/
Unless your home center hooks a ton I'd recommend the summit, neither me or anybody I know matched up well with the revenant in league or sport play.
