When I first watched this audition I didn't know who Nightbirde was either but I got just as emotional. This choir really continued her legacy. Loved your genuine reaction!
To understand why Simon cried, Nightbirde made this song up for AGT because she was dying of cancer. She got through, but ... never made it. She died. These South African Choir heard it across the other side of the world and decided to dedicate it to Nightbirde. You need to see Nightbirde's audition first.
I loved this as a South African they made us proud , NightBirde was a beautiful person and hers is one I will never forget, I hardly watch the show but I saw her and she has always resonated .. I am sure because of who she was she would have loved this, and like they said she was all for it, Just Beautiful
this made me ugly cry with happyness as birdie was a person who i hoped would go on to be huge world wide super sad she left so soon as she was magical this tribute and the fact she reached out to them proves she was a insanely beautiful soul and is missed by every body as the audiance all on there feet and it was a 5 way buzzer and every single person there wanted it and probably every body watching on tv and on utube ect wanted it so my eyes streemed as night birdie this a extra buzzer for you baby😢 ❤❤❤❤
You must go back and watch Nightbirde sing “It’s Ok”. It’s a song that she wrote. You must watch from her entrance to exit from the stage. I suffer from a severe and rare pain disorder. I happen to be watching (which I rarely do) on the night she sang. It was a particularly difficult night, but her message and the power of her song and presence ignited news hope courage in me. This was a beautiful tribute 🫶🏻❣️
You've definitely gotta go back and watch Nightbirde's original audition. She was just such a beautiful soul. And you can see from THIS audition that she touched so many people. When Nightbirde auditioned for AGT, she made such an impact on Simon that he became great friends with her. He hosted her and her family at his private home. He visited her in the hospital when her health started to decline. All because she decided to audition one day and she changed so many peoples lives. And she did it all in the mistake of what was probably the worst time in her life (having cancer in several parts of her body, she went into tension and then it came back, her husband of 5 years left her BECAUSE she got cancer), but she chose to stay positive. Further in Nightbirde's audition she says a quote that has sick with me for years. "You can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy". And that says it all. Thank you for posting this reaction. I am a huge fan of the way you react to videos. And this choir deserves every great moment they have coming to them. I hope they win this season!
There are several videos between Simon and Nightbirde, after her audition and before she died. The last one on her death bed. When she found out she had cancer, her husband divorced her after years of being her husband/ music producer.
If you enjoyed this you should do a reaction to Nightbirde’s agt audition. To hear the originator sing the song and the story she had to tell is amazing. Heartbreaking given the outcome but unforgettable and it will make you appreciate this performance even more!
" you can't wait for times not to be hard until you choose to be happy" ~nightbird~
I made this into a lovely plaque that sits above our front door. A powerful message from a beautiful soul who exudes humility❣️

Amen to that! Her kind is, sadly, all too rare. She was a literal light in the darkness…
