Absolutely! Its incredible what GT7 does! And how little faff there is! Just a shame how sony seem to have given up a bit on PSVR2! PCVR unless you have a top of the line machine requires so much effort! It is worth it though! As it is better IF you can get it working 😆
Being able to take your headset off and on like a race helmet while the game dynamically reacts and adjusts is more amazing than most people can understand.
Really appreciate you putting this video together. I used these settings and the improvements have blown my mind. It’s such a better experience is VR now! Thanks a million.
I've been racking my brain trying to get the psvr 2 to work smoothly for iRacing like i have my quest 2. AMS2 and Assetto Corsa worked great without much fussing, but iRacing was giving me so much trouble. Thank you for sharing your settings and advice finally have a better direction on getting iRacing working.
@@rickflare6893 yes I think so, although it does use up more headroom for sure. The colours of the OLED screens are much better too.. I havnt compared it to a quest 3 though....
.ini file tip - if you delete the .ini file, the next time your game is opened, a new .ini with the default settings will get created - -so don’t worry about messing it up when editing
I think its a bit odd what you are doing there with the resolution multipliers in steam. Essentially what you are doing is .36 * 2.2 = 0.79 or 79%. You can achieve the same thing by setting custom resolution multiplier to 100% and global to 79% or vice versa. Theres a little confusion around PSVR2 optimal resolution setting. Normally for VR headsets the render resolution needs to be set to 1.4 times the native resolution to counter the distortion needed for VR images to render correctly on the headset. For some reason 100% in steamvr's global settings for PSVR2 is actually 1.7 x the PSVR2 native resolution. For this reason a lot of people are using 68% global resolution which is 1.4 times. I dont think you should be setting it to 36%. Just set it to 79% and your per app to 100. Mind you i have both the PSVR2 and the REverb G2. The G2 is still a better headset by all measures except blacks.
Hey, you are correct in hindsight i guess it doesn’t make much sense, although my logic was to set it low and work upwards slowly to a point per game where i am happy. But as you say above is probably simpler!
Are you running IRacing through Steam or its own launcher? I'm trying to find out if it's possible to play non Steam VR games (specifically MS Flight Sim via Gamepass) with the PSVR2.
@@AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx If you have steamvr set to use openxr, then you should be able to use the native iracing launcher with the runtime in the iracing launcher set to openxr? I could be wrong though. I have the psvr2 arriving next week and was hoping to to transition to it from the Reverb G2, which is going to be decommissioned by Microsoft soon. I really don't want to run iracing through steam.
That sounds like some sort of ASW set on yours, i am running it at 90hz, no way i could get a reliable 120 fps with my cpu/gpu, try 90 and see how that works
Hi, do you mean that if I already used IRacing with OpenXR with Reverb G2s... is it the same to use them with my PSVR2? Without installing anything different than your video tutorial? Just having Steam open and of course having previously installed it? I'm currently super happy with my G2s, I have an RTX4090 and super optimized graphics, 90 FIXED FPS. But I've had PSVR2 for a year now and I want to try and optimize them up to 120FPS, I hope it's possible. By the way, congratulations on the work, thanks for the video, just what I was looking for. You have a new subscriber.
Hi, yes exactly that! Just open iracing through steam and then use open XR exactly as you normally would! I havnt used the reverb G2 but i would expect with having a 4090 that you will get very good results with the PSVR2 and it is at least worth a try.
You can really appreciate the ease of what PlayStation and Polyphony did to make VR use on GT7 so simple

Are you saying that your psvr2 is sharper on pc than the quest 2?

Thats a great tip thanks! I had always tried to remember to save the file but great to know there is another way thanks!
Cheers for this mate, much appreciated

I also am coming from a G2 and the PSVR2 exceeds it in software experience and FOV.
Yes! You did it! Legend
Hope its useful!

Through steam unfortunately, I would love to be able to run the psvr2 through a non steam app!! Haven’t found a way yet though!

Just tried it and yes you can run iracing through the Ui, so long as steam VR is active
@@Tin_Fed you can also link iRacing to steam and it'll record your hours and all and it works fine with PSVR2
check your fps when the car is moving, mine goes straight from 120 to 60 as soon as the car starts moving. I have the same CPU specs as you.

Does anyone know any tips for AMD users?
how do you get OPENXR Toolkit working with psvr2 ? just doesnt seem to work for me ?
It was just installed as normal as was using it previously, when in the iracing UI, open as open XR and then it has usual functionality
@@AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx thanks i will try again later
