Im not sure. The gearboxes are oild. But never heard of theme need replace that. Fist i recomend new battry. If the robot cant take the hands over his head then its time to replace battery.

Got my frist 3D printer back in 2015 and then im have a genuine instrest off mechanics and cars, when i where a kid i did take a part my robone/robosapien clone and put it back to gether for the fun off it did cover the whole table took about half hour for dissasamebly and re-assembely did do that multiply times

i been thinking of that actuly, Robosapien X is faster but never seen a pic of thats mother board,
I think i remmemberd that the robosapiens could lift a bear can and posebly limitation is gearbox and posebly motor controller, the motor driver is actully giving 1.4 amp mesured while in walk so around 1.5/1.6 A later have a heatsink but original dont. one ide is to upgrad feat power whit litium cells not soure if motor controller could take over voltage of around 1-2V and how it efekt the controller, like these small raspberry pi coling fans would work great to keep the controller coold if the voltage regulator and other components would survive overdrive tho, Replacing the engine driver would be time consuming and posebly ruin the re generative power system if u dont resarch how that work, its a haitchi controller but more i dont know, gearbox gearing would also be something to look in too
