SUCH POWER!!!! If only it was available for pc as well. Really interesting product Matt. Good review. I’ll have to keep watching this space to see if they release a pc version.
Hello Matt, I think you are so right about buy the bast kit your budget will allow, as it normally will last you longer. I must say the latest Dock I have was from IWC mainly as I only shoot cameras with CF Express cards or have built in SSD.
@@shane9634 The M4 or the 4 ports? Only joking, congratulations on your M4, very jealous :) The Apple Silicon MacBooks are so good, my M1 is still going strong :)
I have an older CalDigit that I used with this 2020 Intel MacBook, but this looks like the bee's knees. If I update to silicon (M4? Well maybe not) this would be worth serious consideration. Thanks for the review, Matt.
Each user has specific needs based on the features that are offered. I find the Sonnettech Echo 20 better suits my needs and at a lower price. These manufacturers should also recognize that CF Express Cards are commonly used by professional photographers and include a slot for them.
Matt: I'm an old still photographer - and I have to say the plethora of advanced video electronics and controls utterly boggles me. I wouldn't even know where to begin. But your presentation is really interesting!
This dock is a gem. I'm using one for my Mac mini m4 pro. It's an absolute beast when compared to any other current dock.
I guess you had to buy your own cables then!
@@andygarrett4014 Yes. I didn’t realize I had to buy separate cables since the power adapter is configured for laptops.
@@vagrantpistol Maybe in time thay will make connectors that fit, so long as your happy with it maybe it doesn't matter. 😄
I am using a Cal-Digit device with an additional 3, Anker 7 port usb hubs to operate the 21 devices on my M1 MBP. Talk about cabling...
That sounds like a lot of cables!

Looks pretty handy - Is it compatible with M1 iMac (can't seem to find out), thanks
OWC Thunderbolt 5 Dock is looking good at this stage
You need an M4 MacBook Pro to use the Thunderbolt 5, seems to have 4 outbound ports.
@@MattIrwinPhotography Thats why I bought one Matt

If I didn't have a nice monitor which acts as a hub, this would definitely interest me.
Why no cf express reader ?

Yes I talked about the card slots towards the end of the video
We love ours

I-vanky 😂
Je parle mieux français qu'anglais et n'utilise pas de MAC.
My lord! This is 2/3 the price of a Mac Mini M4.
Mac mini is very cheap computer.
