WOW.....What a beautiful bear.....lots to harvest from this one....great video that we really enjoyed....nice dedication to your friend Brad....RIP Brad God Bless, mom and dad...love you
Rest Easy Brad 🙏🏻. Another Banger of a Vid Sturge, "leave all your death threats below" 😂😆😂, Wow 327 He's a Big Boy Congrats 👏🏻 Man, Super stoked for ya, hope you get plenty of solid meat for the Family & Good Ol' 🐻 Fat. Sláinte Bro🤜🏻🤛🏻☘️
Awesome hunt , that's a big one for sure. Like your perspective on using a snare , probably changed my view on it well , I may just have to get some snares now lol.
@@DanielSturge exactly, that's the part that people don't get you're not doing it for sport, you're doing it for food. You obviously have respect for the animal and you want to minimize its suffering and maximize your success rate. I was of the mind that it was less a sport to snare, but I know how smart these animals are and you still have to out smart or out sport them and like you have pointed out if you're snaring a area you make sure you're available to get there so the animal is not suffering. You're an ethical hunter that's also something many don't understand. I always feel bad when I kill a big game but we do it for food, not for sport. Really enjoy your videos you're putting them together well and excellent content, keep them coming.
Wow that means a lot man to hear. Really mean it. When I move back home to the island in less than 2 years we will have to meet up and get some adventures/hunts in. Don't think you're far from where I'll be. God Bless
@BackwoodsBarbarian trapping them is definitely a different game. Your reasoning on trapping and using a bow makes sense. Probably helps remove problem bears that routinely seek out human food from the population as well. Is there any worries about taking too many sows?
Sorry I missed your response. No there is no lack of sows up here. Bears have a way of self population. When there is less boars and pressure such as food and territory sows create more females and in a few years the population increases.
Similar ancestors. All had a base of English but Newfoundland has more Irish influence. Nova scotia and PEI has more Scottish. Newfoundland dialect became it's own moreso because we did not mingle among other like nova scotia did because of being an island in the Atlantic and not being part of Canada.
You have no idea how many threats I have received this season.😆 who knew people would be so angry for me feeding my family. Lol. TH-cam filters the vial things they say luckily. Haha thanks for watching and commenting.

Thans brother! I usually hide some extra footage at the very end of the videos with stuff that's outside the scope of the video. You'll see I show the cape and fat and me rendering fat into oil. The meat is still hanging and aging in the fridge. Tonight I'll be cutting it up into streaks and portions. I'll post it on the community page.
@BackwoodsBarbarian not to bad, enough to get around, just back on sled, ptarmigan numbers are high this year, get a feed of Alouettes on the go tonight ha
Nice! We got about the same amount of snow. No Ptarmigan around here yet. Normally they stay in the mountains until we gets lots more snow. I haven't seen one. My buddy who went to lab city early this week said there were lots the closer he got.
Big bear for sure Daniel. Sorry for the loss of your friend.
Thanks bro!
Congratulations! Well done.

Congratulations, that is some bear. Condolences for the loss of your friend.
Thank you. Appreciate it
Great video! I get to try trapping a black bear for the first time come September!
Good Luck! I'm guessing you'll be using a similar device. A foot hold snare?
@@DanielSturge It's a smaller device, I was sent pictures but unsure if it's more like a DP for bears or a foot snare! I'll be headed to Maine for it!
Very nice.
Thank you!

Zac has a youtube channel now call CZJuke. He plays gorilla tag on VR
Who else thinks his accent has gotten stronger since moving to Labrador? 😂😂 what if he moves to the rock 😆
Ohh buddy, I got to catch myself sometime so I don't need subtitles
lol it sounds awesome. Maybe if I hang around you enough I'll pick it up haha@@DanielSturge
You would. It's a relaxed dialect so people start building the accent
Its similar to the PEI accent, which is a mix of Newfy and Scotian I think @@DanielSturge
