Fantastic video and great detailed tutorial and written recipe too. Thank you so much. The only thing I have do disagree with you on, just personally, is that I wouldn't call samgyetang cheap to make-- not if you're making highest possible quality soup with fresh ginseng. Perhaps in other countries it IS cheap but where I am in England fresh ginseng is around £12 PER ROOT. I don't have a great deal in common with people who eat industrially farmed chickens and I buy mine from a small family farm in Devon. You get incredibly well reared, healthy and happy chickens who've let a good relatively long life compared to their sad cousins in the industrial factory farms and unfortunately this all comes at a price. The smallest size chicken sold in small farms like this are around the 1.4kg size and they'll set you pack another £14. This is not counting the cost of jujubes, which in England are around £7 for a small tray. There's enough in the small tray for a couple of goes at Samgyetang and enough leftover to make Korean jujube tea paste, which can be stored in the fridge or freezer to stretch the pennies further and prolong the lifespan of what you've lovingly made. Whew, after all that, I'm looking forward to making Samgyetang for the first time tomorrrow. I'd really hate to have wasted all that money on ingredients so wish me luck, ha! Again, thanks so much for your tutorial here. So many great tips which nobody else online has mentioned (like the removal of blood clots in the chicken etc). THANK YOU! 🍜🐔💛

I love our chicken tinola. But this is my favorite chicken Korean dish, together with the sauce. Tasty and healthy. A must try! 🍗
