    +bigwl3 I have been taking my RC 390 to Apex. I noticed in your other videos you ran that track with another bike. Have you been there with the RC 390? If so, how did you like it? Hopefully, I will get a chance to see you out there and get a few pointers.

      +TomRico No I haven't taken my RC to APEX yet. I chose Adams because I figured it opens up a little bit more than APEX but I'm definitely not against taking it out to APEX. What are your impressions of riding APEX on the RC? Is it too tight? Hopefully I'll see you out there!

      In my opinion, the RC initially felt too big for Apex with the stock suspension. The stock suspension didn’t handle the fast switchback very well and felt like it had no rebound damping. The bike tends to wallow on the long left-handed sweeper and it was evident with the uneven rear tire wear. Last Sunday, I ran the track with an Ohlins rear shock and it felt much better. I have a fork cartridge kit, not yet installed, and I can’t wait to see the difference it makes at Apex. I was considering getting a smaller bike for a kart track or just save my money and hone my skills on the RC. You’re the only local guy I know that runs an RC at a kart track and I appreciate your feedback. Someone at the track recommended taking the RC to Grange. He feels the RC will be better suited for that track.

      +TomRico I have the Ohlins rear but stock front forks and I really didn't get a chance to slam it around the track since my brakes were pretty much toast but I never felt like the bike was way too big for Adams. I have to disagree about Grange though. Even on my 150 GP bike Grange feels to me like the tightest track out of all the Kart tracks. If you're interested in racing minis I'd suggest picking up a 65 or 85/150. The 65 classes have huge grids and those bikes are perfectly tailored for kart tracks. Let me know how the bike feels at APEX with the new forks!

      +bigwl3 what would you recommend for sliders? i wanna get into racing starting to do my rc390 up

    • @thedoctorchocolate
      @thedoctorchocolate  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Eddy Gilbert Once you get the bike set up it's awesome for racing. The first thing I would swap out is the suspension. In my first race th-cam.com/video/fomiN0mE48Y/w-d-xo.html I was running the stock front suspension and in my 2nd race I ran aftermarket front suspension and dropped over 6 seconds off my lap times. As for sliders I haven't put any on the bike yet so I'm not sure which ones work best. But revzilla has a set for the KTM

    Can anyone explain why it is 2 exhaust?I dont understand..isnt it for big engine?

    • @thedoctorchocolate
      @thedoctorchocolate  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not necessarily. In MotoGP the Moto3 bikes are all single cylinder 250cc motors and they all run dual exhaust.

    • @mynusss
      @mynusss 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      bigwl3 why do they run dual exhaust? I'm curious

    • @thedoctorchocolate
      @thedoctorchocolate  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      My assumption is for better top end. The Moto3 bikes in MotoGP are singles like the RC and they all run dual exhaust so I imagine it stems from that but I don't know for sure.

    • @casmitherz
      @casmitherz 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      For better top end. It doesn't matter what size the engine. Some engines benefit from the duals, some don't. There are a lot of tricks to squeezing more power from engines by way of exhaust configurations. Yosh simply weighed R&D costs, tried a few things and determined that it was most cost effective to run a dual system.

      Cold/brand new DOT tires. I'm used to race tires which immediately have grip. It was also a little cold outside.

      Lol, it's called having never ridden DOT tires. Perhaps you should check out my latest race vids and then we can talk finesse.

      It's called Gaining Experience. Don't listen to any negative comments.

    • @waynes.2983
      @waynes.2983 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      bigwl3 never ridden DOT tires...thats a lame excuse. I mean you did realize you were riding on tires unlike any you'd experienced before right?
      The whole point is that you start out taking it easy and gain speed with each lap. That's why it is called "practice".
      I'd have respected you a lot more of you just admitted that it was nothing but rider error.
