It might actually help: lays down more rubber right before the race.

@@notanairbusa380 it's also a warm-up for the track officials and marshals. you don't want their first time managing an on-track incident to be during the big main event.

Watching all these big guys cross their arms during the introductions seemed awkward. It suggests a significant lack of imagination when posing.
