    All I saw was a smart driver out there doing homework in the Capital of the Sprint car world. There isn't anything wrong with that. You guys will get it in due time. Y'all keep your heads up, keep taking notes and getting better at what you do out there will come to you eventually. Once a P.E. told me that the quickest and easiest way to get better at something is to surround yourself with the best. It's almost as if there skills rub off on you. You guys aren't doing any worse than I thought you would. I am still glad that you are still sharing these videos with us thank you for that. May y'all continue to have a good one out there. Have fun take care.
    P.s. if they sould care please pass on a Hi from me to your crew. Thx have fun take care

    Sometimes, a race turns into a test session. Can you lower the right front of your top wing. Wicker bill up on driver side and down on right. Gotta spill as much air drag as you can while keeping down-force where you need it. Try new stuff and keep digging. We are pulling for you and the family.

    Tanner, while watching the gopro ontrack it sounded to me like the motor wasn't getting up on the highspeed, the motor did not make that noise change it makes when it should transition onto the highspeed. Did you consider decreasing the highspeed fuel pressure down a little?
    I assume you have an air monitor that gives you "perceived elev, barometric pressure, etc." As you know air is so very different everywhere and is so dang important as it relates to your motor churning out the max horsepower and torque that it can.
    Keep up the awesome job both with the videos and your racing!!!

    Have some suggestion's put 2 pounds of air in your tires maybe ad timing like 2 degrees that would help for a little more speed at Knoxville

  • @jasonlavere5071
    @jasonlavere5071 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You are doing what you have to so that you can learn. It's probably really difficult moving to such a large track to race on. There's definitely a balance between speed and having the right downforce. I also you think you (not you personally) have to learn how to driver a tighter car on big tracks. Any small slip and you kill all of your exit speed. You have to have the car on a rail. I would think as you get to feature time you'd want max downforce for when the track gets slick. I could see air pressures being different as well on the big track. There's a lot to be learned. But fighting through all that is going to make you a better driver. Especially when you do have a crew chief in the future.

    Didnt honestly look bad in the feature when i caught glimpses. Can get lucky the first time out but will always be a learning expierience. Curious if you are following the all stars east. They hit selinsgrove the end of august. Its really the east coast knoxville. Big 1/2 mile that is semi banked. Not as high banked as port royal.

Do not be too hard on yourself. You and the team have done GREAT. You're there making laps and showing improvement. The better you get the harder it is to improve. There are some great divers there. The big track, fast and furious competition. I would tend to believe everyone out there who has started at the back and eventually made it to the front, over time, will tell you, it takes time. There is many a driver and crew individual who probably comments on your page here. If something is mentioned that may seem a viable construct, note it for this paticular track then maybe slip it in, along with some of the feed you might get while there and your own setup for how you drive the car.
    You hit it early in the video when saying you wished you could have run the "B" as this would have given you more seat time. Laps, laps, laps. So long as you understand what doe not work, one can move forward. Maybe not in leaps and bounds, yet forward. I remember changing top wing height, front and back, lower. Front wing same. Because the track is huge, the aerodynamics come more into play. Lower the car height, ( center of gravity ), front axle offset, pan bar. It will over time come to you. Like many have said as well as myself, strap in and learn. You know that too many changes at one time may overload. Use a setup that is comfortable then maybe throw an added wrench into the mix and see what happens.
    From the footage, I think the recipe was there, just not quite sweet enough to come out done. There is a fellow out in Washington who used to wrench on the 600's up at Deming for some time. Retired now but was a staunch advocate for getting after it. Even if one convinces someone to do this midwest run with you might make the difference. Heck, make up a board, "Looking for Crewchief for Nationals", Might work.
    Tanner, it takes time. Every race is one to put into the books, Good, Bad or Ugly, it's your perception at the end of the run that excels you to the winners circle or keeps you at the back of the pack. Take it all with agrain of salt, bite the bullet, but just keep moving foraward. The spirit of the wind will always be on your back should you decide that's where it needs to be......
    Your family absolutely "ROCKS", when it comes to supporting you and Carly. You just may have that crew chief in your mix already and don't even know it....."Carly"!
