People keep coming back, Stuart, because you are easy to watch, easy to understand, and always show us something new, while giving us reminders of things we've forgotten. Thank you. You are what keeps me going when something won't go right. I know your videos have the solution, and often backtrack to the ones I know have the answer to what I'm trying to figure out. Especially when I'm making things too complicated for myself! This is another one I know I will replay more than once! (I think my memory box is having issues). Sometimes I forget to follow the KISS principle.
@@StuartDaviesI have to say I like it as well. I don’t see the 70s look in it, & I remember those big pointy 70s collars, etc. I like the shirt. Now, if you appeared with bell bottoms, an Afro, your shirt unbuttoned to your chest to show off your gold chains, we might need to have a quick chat😜
My wife and I are just getting into your channel and your art. We love it! We don't paint (yet), but we enjoy relaxing with your videos playing in the background.
I really like that light horizontal streak above the horizon. It looks like there's a bank of clouds way in the distance. And colors in the sky? Depending on light & conditions, i think every color pops up now & then. Especially storm clouds. Greens, reds, browns, greys, blues...pretty amazing thing to witness. We had this giant storm, i think it collapsed in on itself somehow when it dropped into our valley. people were pulling over in thier cars to witness all the colors. One of the most awesome sights I've ever seen. Another good video!
Living far up north with loads of sled dogs around , I can tell you that huskies do have voices :) lovely video as always, you really inspire me to paint
Oh my giddy aunt! Would you believe the scene you have depicted, could easily be the north facing view out of my lounge window in winter 🤭 amazing Stuart 👏😆 I live in rural southern Ireland over looking a vast bog, with the quaint village of Banagher hidden behind the hilly tree skyline. (I am also an English expat 😂) Anyway, love the way and simplicity of creating 'snow' in this vid, thank you 👏
i am so drawn in with the way you teach your technics ,on september 2nd, my dad was taken ill and taken to hospital,my focus was getting my dad back on his feet and back home, the one thing that got me through the long days were your videos, sadly my dad passed on the 13th of september, on the same day later in the afternoon ,i started a painting, its only my 5th one ive done, and i uploaded to facebook,i never thought that i would want to do anything after losing my dad ,but for you thank you, keep the videos coming ,lee xx
I agonise for what seems like an age over skies, in this video you made it look so simple and quick, I'll be using this method for my next painting, hopefully with similar results.
this reminds me of something i saw on you tube that i once watched regarding the Sami people in Norway, you have captured the sky and the coldness as i remembered it👍
There’s many reasons to follow Stuart’s painting strategy Here’s mine: 1. Losing the fear of making mistakes, adding humour 2. Avoids turps and spirits 3. Correcting errors easily 4. How and why to prepare plywood 5. Using cheap brushes 6. When to use paint thinly or thicker 7. How to remove paint with paper and use knives 8. Including randomness in a designed structure 9. How to create texture, perspective and light. 10. Avoiding stiffness and staying loose
A most enjoyable hour watching you Stuart create this wonderful Winter scene, thank you so much and also for your techniques that help us to attempt these paintings best wishes from Durham UK
Thank you again Stuart..actually i think this is very impressionist/tonalist/and anything in beetween, yet with a very realistic, photo like kind of quality to it.i really love it
LOVE it! And your shirt is fine, Stu! Two more theories, as to why the white paint isn't drying, is a fault in the manufacturing process, or, you drunk too much wine, and used toothpaste? :o) And a good way to get the caps off your bottles of siccatives, is put them, upside down, in hot water, for a few minutes. And, I think, the top left & right, of the horizon (50:06), was 'crying out' for a bit of white?
Such a serene landscape, I love it ❤ I tried to paint a snowscape which I fiddled and fiddled with and it still doesn’t look right, this has inspired me to try again 😊
I've been watching your vlogs and paying attention to your technique etc. . . and wonder if you can paint reflections on water? Is that possible? Would love to see it and learn the process. Thank you
You may have mentioned this, but how did you get the pinkish color in your sky?..(the one you applied with your knife)..This painting is beautiful, and I have been a subscriber of yours for a few years now, and I have seen dramatic improvements in my paintings since watching! Thank you so much for sharing!
Haha...the shirt story reminds me of when I was in my early 40s and decided to channel my hippy/punk youth by buying a pair of skinny fit black jeans. When I put them on my ex-wife took one look and said 'you look like a duck' and went back to what she was doing!
Yes, really simple Stuart... so that's the beginners catered for, now what about something really ambitious for the more advanced amongst us....please!

Wow! I can't believe I missed this display of skill. As always, I seem to learn something from Stuart with everyone of his videos. Well done, Stuart.
Love your shirt Stuart ..you look much more like an artist 😊 keep it going 😊
Thank you 😁

Absolutely...LOVEEEEE the sky...and the snowy land👍💞
Love the way this sky is coming along 17 minutes in!

Yes this is realistic and beautiful, l seen sky like that
I’m working on a tree painting and I think I’d like to try a version of your sky in this video. Beautiful
Beautiful.
I like the shirt, is very classy and it fits you. :)
Fantastic thanks
No entiendo Muy bien el idioma Inglés, pero si el idioma universal de la pintura!! Felicitaciones maestro!!.. maestro!!

Nah, wife's wrong (don't tell her though), you look positively dapper!
too late...😆😅🤣😂

You can do it!
I like your shirt, good choice.
Nothing quite like some jiggery pokery when jiggling. 😊
If you trickle boiling water over the bottle tops for a few seconds they might loosen up works for me. 😊😊
I've been watching your vlogs and paying attention to your technique etc. . . and wonder if you can paint reflections on water? Is that possible? Would love to see it and learn the process. Thank you
Are you going to put some sky color in your snow! I live in Arizona.😊
Yes, as soon as it's dry enough.
what is Japonais Red, i dont find it, can i replace it with Red Ocre?????
What type of paint do you use
Do you see what it says at the bottom of the thumbnail? :-) and in the title?
If you use Windsor and Newton Original Liquin in place of Linseed oil you won't have any problems with drying.
The smell is a bit intense for me.

It's just Japanese red and Titanium white.
Are you going to put some sky color in your snow!
Hot water will get most medium bottle lids off

The best voice in painting

😂
there's no pink reflected in the snow
Part 2 may have some pink in the snow.
yes i forgot about the blending
I know its petty stuart, but thr TH-cam plague is about to fall off the wall...
It's one of those things with 2 holes on the back, so I'm going to change the fitting. Don't want to drill too many holes.
could you set up a group in watsapp?
Why?
