I have not tried that yet to be honest, but I have an idea. You can look up videos of the both and look for the wiring harness to see if it’s a match. But it’s still a GM and they have many different data harness’s. Is it the same year Malibu? That would be best, if it were me I would go for an android car stereo. Look them up. They are taking over with Tesla style stereos that are plug and play with some adjustments in settings. Find a unit that’s fitted to your dash and everyone of your friends will want one.
Did you need any codes or reprogramming to get the new one to work in the car?
Nope, That one was plug and play.
