My Grandmother very recently passed away, and I knew she did some artwork of some sort, but didn't know it was china painting specifically. I have a basket of things from her painting room, and I wasn't sure how she went about painting, or what technique she used, nor what paints. Since her painting room was quite damp and cool, she had kept a sealed palette of paints, and they're surprisingly still wet even though she hasn't painted in years. Finding these videos has helped to give me more information on how I'll one day paint with those paints and brushes on china of my own to remember her, and I can't thank you enough for that. Though I'm sure the artist that made this plate most likely isn't alive anymore, she reminds me a bit of my own Grandmother. 💚
I have been trying soo long to learn roses and just couldnt get it. U explained it soo well thank u soo much. I am very excited about finally finding someone that really explained each step so well thanks again. U paint beautiful.
I never liked China painted formulaic stuff, but this, just by watching, can teach quite a bit about how to build light and darks into a sense of volume and depth. Very interesting!
To anyone watching this video, do you know how to get ahold of Barbara? Is she from California? I believe my grandmother had one of her paintings, that I now currently own. If anyone has knowledge pertaining to Barbara Duncan, please contact me or reply to my comment. Thank you and I hope you have a good day.
Amazing to learn your technique. Thank you.
