Sometimes it's unbelievable what ends up abandoned. Today we check out this stunning Tudor Mansion built in 1938. Originally sat on 18 acres of land, 15 acres of the property was sold to a developer who built the rest of the neighborhood that still exists today. Before this massive home was built, a 1.5-story cabin sat in its place, which was demolished in 1934. Back in 1938, the house cost only 24,000 dollars to build, roughly half a million dollars today adjusting for inflation.
The home was purchased by a new family from the original owner sometime in the 1960s. The lady who lived here was part of the Canadian Olympic Equestrian team throughout the 1970s winning silver for Canada in 1979 for team jumping. She was hired by CBC Sports later on as an equestrian sports analyst in the 1980's starting her 28-year-long career as a sports broadcaster. Over the next few decades, she achieved a lot. She became the first woman to host a national sports program on TSN in 1984, and the first woman to co-host CBC Sports Olympic coverage during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. She also covered the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympic Games as well as 2004 Summer Olympic Games. She earned Gemini Award nominations for her work and won a 2003 Gemini Award becoming the first female sports broadcaster to do so. She announced her retirement in 2008.
In 2023 the home was sold to a developer for 7.5 million dollars.
Believe it or not just 24 hours after we explored this home demolition began. Everything that you will see inside the home was lost. All of the beautiful gingerbread decoration, interior woodwork, and craftsmanship were lost to the excavator. Instead of keeping a beautiful old home alive and well a new cheaply built modern mansion will go in its place.

So sad to know this gem was torn down. Thanks for preserving it's memory.
Wait what? They demolished this gorgeous mansion; this is criminal! I’m broken-hearted & disgusted this amazing home has been demolished! Glad you were able to explore this beautiful old mansion! ❤️👍🤬😢
So glad you got it documented before they just destroyed it and the beautiful craftsmanship and lumber
I am SHOCKED and angered that they just destroyed this house and didn’t salvage anything. It’s gorgeous!
I know! An absolute disgrace..... 😢
This is, was, a beautiful home. In its glory, what a house. I like that you respect the properties that you are looking through, says a lot about you. Thanks Noah!
Wow! What a gorgeous house!! Something as detailed and sturdy like that should never ever be demolished. It should have gone on a historical preservation list. Thank God you documented this so thoroughly and beautifully, Noah!! Sadly, this is now one of the few testimonials of a grand era gone forever.
This place was beautiful! Those floors and the details in all the wood and the ceilings! My goodness why do these get demolished?? People are just so ignorant in their own little worlds!
This is such a shame. What a beauty!! Great job Noah! 😊😊😊
It would be a tragedy to demolish this lovely old home, Noah. Thanks for the great explore .
Thank you for showing us this beautiful house..So sad it will be demolished. Another AWESOME video👏😁
I'm only twenty minutes in and I'm already flabbergasted that this home is being demolished rather than refurbished. So sad.
I’m heartbroken 😢😢
A beautiful home. The Safety Harbor Spa brochure is here in Florida and is still operational. I live close by.
Amazing video, I really enjoyed it. That vintage stove was quite special, too bad they didn't salvage it. Someone would buy it for sure. Thanks for sharing.
When you see that mixer built into the counter there is usually a cupboard that has all the attachments that go to it underneath. My friend has one in her houses it's so cool!
I can only imagine how beautiful the home was. ❤❤
I’m with many other commenters. It’s literally criminal this is being torn down, especially if nothing is salvaged. It’s beautifully done with the attention to detail and craftsmanship. Very sad to know it will cease to exist.
A house like this getting demolished, needs to be a crime…
The property as well was so mature/perfect...so sad
Imagine all the plaster crown molding painted with all the floral colors and green leaves.
This is so one of your best finds.
Just wait till you see what else I've been keeping in the vault haha
Can’t believe they are tearing this big house down, it’s sad😢😢
Wow, what a beautiful house.
Awesome Explore, Noah- Keep Orange Crushing It!
Thanks Noah 😊 what a great find. Shame it was demolished.
The one thing should have saved was that stove!
And ALL OF THOSE STAINED GLASS and LEADED windows…. The door knobs and the good bathroom fixtures… DOORS TOO !
Neat house for sure, but definitely hard to find. You are in fact correct, this was the home of a very celebrated Canadian equestrian superstar.
This house isn’t that hard to find, it’s near Drakes house.
Back in the time that house was built, they put the deeds to the house in the banisters.
That’s good to know!! I’ve never heard that
What an outstanding house, you'd need servants to clean that humongous place! What a shame nothing seems to have been salvaged. Thanks Noah for a tour of this beauty before the wrecking ball destroyed it. I agree with you painting that beautiful wood is such a bad idea, it ruins it.
Have you ever seen the old movie called "Burnt Offerings"? It's about an old spooky mansion with a life of it's own. That's as far as I'll go. Watch it if you can find it.
What a waste of a beautiful property , love the interior and detail is so beautiful , so sad it’s going to be demolished 😢. Love this video Noah thanks ❤
This TOUR was SO VERY ENJOYABLE…. And for what ever reason I had a sentimental feeling mixed with that unfortunate feeling knowing it will be demolished…. If i put myself in the position to afford this type of home it would definitely be one LIKE THIS FROM THIS bygone era rather than these bland new builds with less than desirable character … It’s just painful to know that the craftsman of this era for the most part are no longer around and NOT MANY PEOPLE INTERESTED IN SAVING THESE PLACES .. We are losing TOO MANY OF THEM
We are such a wasteful society anymore. I was brought up to use what we had and reuse anything that was found that could be recycled. Buttons got saved from old clothes, old clothes were made into quilts or rags. When we had to do work on our 1884 year old house, we saved and reused everything we could. There is so much beauty in this house that could be used for the future projects, but it would have been nice to have seen this house restored to it's original beauty, and lived in. What is new now does not have the craftsman touches or the pride of workmanship that was put into this house. So sad to see it go.....
Awesome house, thanks for sharing 😊

I'm in my early 60s and retired at age 53. A lot of people opposed me because they didn't get the concept of not working if it wasn't necessary. I thought of myself as living in stages. I've put a lot of effort into getting to where I am now, but in these final years, I owe it to myself to "stop and smell the roses." I fled the country once I retired and am currently living in Latin America. I was able to unwind in my new environment and get away from all the negative events occurring in America. So far, I have not met anyone who regrets retiring.
Nice way to retire. For me, I believe retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs are the ones who could not accumulate enough money during their active years to meet their needs. Retirement choices determine a lot of things. My wife and I both spent same number of years in the civil service, she invested through a wealth manager and myself through the 401k. We both still earning after our retirement fund has grown way more than it would have with just the 401(k). Haha.
Even the wood floors are still shiny wow .what a shame to destroy all the wood and stain glass windows 😞
it's so heartbreaking to know it's getting knocked down especially after seeing it's overall condition.. It looks like someone moved out of it yesterday.. The paints hardly even cracked or peeling at all on any of the walls.. The carpets look vacuumed.. The real hardwood floors still shine.. I could see knocking it down if it was abandoned for decades and stuff was falling apart and caving in, broken windows, mold and stuff like that.... But it's in immaculate shape and to know it'll all be gone is just sad.. I love the style on the backside of the house too where the patio was.. Like an old European style house.. Old Victorian windows.. Stuff you'll never see be relevant in architecture design ever again.. Also it was cool to see it had a walk-in fridge in the basement..
Beautiful house. ❤
For a Tudor mansion that was built in the 1930 that held a lot of history in it the basement was like going into a maze you never knew witch way to go but why do they need to demolish it should be under the Heritage listings in Canada you can't have beautiful homes like this so they get demolish glad that you had the time to Noah to vlog this home and document it they don't make homes like that any more
That's too bad it's being demolished now I'll have to get a $30million apartment for that style
No you didn't incredible job 👍
Heart breaking to have destroyed an amazing work of art this home was. 😢
People should never had destructed such a beauty.
1938...! And only $500K to build today "adjusted for inflation..." Not calling you out, just can't believe something that beautifully well built piece of history destroyed & that the "cost of inflation calculator" is either out of whack or prices of everything these days have... Great video!
A gorgeous home and so much could have salvaged
Beautiful
Why was that house not saved. Didn't see like any major issues with it.
This is by far how the wealthy lived and I am absolute speechless. Thank you for showing us every detail. I don’t understand this new money generation, no reason they cannot salvage as much as possible. Donate it to an antique store. What a waste.
Would've been nice if they had let people know and go into salvage stuff. So much there could have been saved and repurposed.
This house has now been unburdened but what it once was.
This house is right across the street from the manager of Rush. (Ray Danniels)..
How do you live in a house that big and not worry about someone breaking in at night when you are sleeping? I absolutely would have Dobermans or Pit Bulls. Love German Shepherds but the shedding is too much work.
Some of those rooms were closets not an office area
The Developer should be Ashamed of his self so knocking this house down without salvaging anything. What a Jerk

I would have taken all of the Olympic stuff and donated to the Historical Foundation.
Sadly we are a throw away society. A lot of people don't appreicate what is being lost. All so some can make a few bucks. This house was saveable. Ugh.
Where are her stables? She liked horses 🐎 I would have thought she would want her horses on her property.
🪔Tku for this; they will probably put up some ugly cardboard house with NO character. These old places had so much to offer...
