I can elaborate on my strategy: I build 4 farms, a single barracks and went for a fast city phase. Then make siege towers and see how my opponent deals with them. The game showed that having only a single barracks and 4 farms cause issues later.
Well, that said, you did get to p3 quick, I do wonder if you'd gone with all rams instead of the 3 towers it might have been more effective. But you reckon it compromised your production in the later game?
@@0ADNewbieRush It would have been prossible to create 5 ramms. But the issue is that I don't know if that yields better results. If you don't send a supporting army with those 5 ramms, then I don't know if you can take out the CC and if you can, the enemies will kill your rams. To get these ramms so early, you would make the same compromises as I did. If you do send a supporting army with those 5 ramms you have a much bigger chance to knock your opponents out. However one of the compromises I had to made was to skip many (military upgrades), so your army might get beated. Also one of the compromises is that I only had one single barracks and 4 fields, so if I would need to rebuild an army it wouldn't be fast. Going for some siege towers seems to be a safer bet, though It turned out that we were ineffective at taking the CC. However the Roman player didn't have much women on the fields and he lost the barracks, so that wasn't an enviable position. For spectators it might be easy to say to build more of this or that, but as a player you can only spent your resources once.
@@0ADNewbieRush By the way: I know you need to distribute your limited attention among all other things. What might be interesting is to show what infrastructure players have. The infrastructure of people that build stables or advance to p2 early tells you what to expect and how thing are achieved. That tells a lot about the compromises players make and the strategy that is employed.
Yeah, it's tricky in the heat of the battle. What about relying on fpre to come through with infantry support? Your attacks looked co-ordinated - were you two in communication about it? Ultimately it was a valiant move, but obviously fine margins. If it had come off it quite possibly would have swung the game in your favour. Kudos I think for being bold and giving it a try :)
This is very true. My style is to fill the dead air with talking, and there is usually a lot going on in 4v4, so I often have to sacrifice deeper level strategic analysis in favour of describing what is currently going down in multiple parts of a busy map. It's quite 'surface level' commentary. It's helpful when I have another person in on the commentary with me, especially a technically adept player, I can get them to figure it out while I waffle on, then just throw it over to them to explain what's actually taking shape below the surface.

Man that is a nice commentary on this crazy match! Letswaveabook's early siege towers were nice imho but having used against a CC? I dunno really or at least not vs such a *motivated* gang of opponents :-)
We all know Letswaveabook is a great player (as clearly evidenced is the later 1v1 game vs Lorenz11) - he had a plan here but it didn't quite come off.
