@@0ADNewbieRush Installed it and boy have I been missing a lot. Mine looks different than yours. Slightly more polished I think. Is yours not the latest or is there a setting you used?
Yes, I need to update to the latest version. When playing it's more of an accessibility aid, so clearer icons and in game elements and colours. But it really shines in spec mode as you get a clearer picture of what all the players are doing in the main gui.
@@0ADNewbieRush Same for me. I have a pretty high resolution monitor and everything is small and some stuff is hard to see and sometimes I don't notice things. Dragging the viewport in the mini map is also easier. Too sensitive without the mod. It's also extra useful in multiplayer especially after researching cartography. It's nice to get a quick glimpse of how your teammates are doing.
But observing is where I the biggest improvement is. Way easier to follow what's going on in the game.
@@caseyhoward9101 Indeed, it pretty much saved Newbie Rush in A24, commentating on games with the natve gui alone is pretty much impossible. Just updated to the latest version of the mod last night, it's pretty slick :)
hi,
after defense you could try to use "back to work" it is on Y by default I think. If units were chopping wood or mining they should go back to it automatically
also if you click on attack notification it moves camera to the spot
I do use it, but find it often results in the units just standing there a lot.
@@0ADNewbieRush I've noticed this, too. I think that feature of the game might be wonky/buggy. Sometimes they go back to work. Somtimes they don't. Sometime half of them go back to work and the others just stand there.
@@mattdrabek6885 i think it might be that if u order the units to walk somewhere during the battle it kind of clears their 'memory' of the job they were doing beforehand. plus i think if they were cutting wood they'll end up going to the first random nearby tree rather than the woodline u had them at. i tend to use back to work and then round up the rest w shift + .
@@zephyramethyst9455 That would explain what I've seen. When ordering them to attack, it's common to accidentally order them to walk instead of attack. When you do that, it probably 'clears their memory,' like you said.

When you're facing an early cav raid, you never know whether you're playing someone really good or someone who uses cav raids to throw off their opponents and cover up problems with their own game. You got Option 2 in this game.
For sure, that is true. I've had many a horrible game where the first raid was small, but effective, then they've just grown in ferocity and damage. I think when the number of cav wasn't growing exponentially with each raid that I started to believe my opponent wouldn't be doing the right stuff in regard to his eco at his base. His strategy relied on the opponent falling apart completely. He should have abandoned raiding after the second go and focused on his infantry and defenses.

Hi dude, yeah, I was only kidding! But it's incredibly stressful when someone you know is spectating! Especially when they are a much better player. And yes, I do find it much quicker to boom with the ptolomies- and love the cheap houses!

It's weird how it's goes. I definitely didn't play well against you, but you were totally the deserved winner, the better player in that match. I think I did okay against duckduck1, but he definitely dropped the ball a few times. Then you lost to him! Probably on our day we're all capable of a good showing. But what does it take, in terms of concentration, timing and skill, to win match after match, like the top players? It's quite scary!
@@0ADNewbieRush yea i dropped the ball HARD against him this morning xD it was mad frustrating bc i beat him pretty handily a few days ago. i was listening to this really good album during the game which def had me distracted lol. i was like begging him for a rematch afterwards bc i knew he couldn't do it again lmao. i don't even understand how the top players do what they do, it's like their brains are just running on way more RAM than mine lmao
