  • Spent the day in San Jose upgrading to Manny's 1 TON front end. Traveled up the coast to Eugene Oregon. Kids played at the amusement park while we hurried to get the RV back on the road.

Jenny Rodriguez Our front end was completely worn out, so it was a fantastic upgrade.

Really enjoyed the RV trip videos. You should make a lot more road trip videos in your RV with the kids while their still young because you won't see them as much when they get older. You are an incredibly blessed man with a wonderful family. If you're ever in the San Antonio area & need any tools for repairs or maintenance just make a comment on one of my TH-cam videos & I'll get back to you right away. I have a really bad back now but I can work hard for a few minutes at a time on my feet & help you. My wife would of course help out, especially if someone isn't feeling well because she is an RN. Happy trails & GOD speed. May GOD Bless You, your Family & Friends forever & ever, AMEN...

Thank you so much for the nice comment! I also appreciate your offer. I have some more videos ready to post in the next day or two. San Antonio is a really neat city and somewhere we should visit.

I was wondering how the diesel turned out? Noise, power, fuel economy? Did I miss a video? How did the fuel injection work?
Where did the 1 ton conversion come from and the advantages?

Rick Ross -Diesel conversion turned out fantastic (after we worked the bugs out). The fuel economy is 100% better than gas. I get 12-16 vs 6.5-8 that I was getting previously. You haven't missed anything, I just haven't had time to edit. I had it almost ready to go and the files went missing. It's a long story...

Rick Ross Fuel injection is a necessity in my book. It modernizes the coach and starts and drives like a newer car.

Rick Ross lastly, the 1-ton conversion is from Manny Travaeo. Advantages: newer components that are easily replaced, and you don't have to pack the bearings every 15k miles. Disadvantages... it seems to be harder to get it aligned correctly (but that's just my opinion).

Did the diesel have clearance issues and fuel tank issues? Was the noise an issue? Did you have to put a vacuum pump on it for the brakes.
Did you have to have an adapter for transmission?
      Motor mounts?
      Blessings Rick

Rick Ross Yes, there were clearance issues. The reason we chose the 6.5 was because it was the only engine that fit and required the fewest mods. Noise was similar to the old engine (in the cab), with the exception to the whine of the turbo. It’s much louder outside. I installed 2 vacuum pumps, one auxiliary.

I have two girls, a 1 year old and my oldest is almost 3. We just got a 74' gmc and would like to do some traveling like your family is. Love the videos. Thanks for sharing. How does the 1 ton upgrade feel?

Philip Thompson Hey, welcome to the GMC club! We decided on the 1-ton upgrade because it was cheaper than replacing the old worn out parts. It definitely feels more solid and doesn't shake as bad when the semi trucks pass me. I love the rig, but it's a money pit...

    I always wondered?
    Do we like camping ?
Or working on the camper 🤔 ?
    Do I like boating ?
Or having the Nicest Boat on the River ?
    We may never know.
We did it all fir the kids ??? 🤔😉😁👍
    Right 🤗

You seem like you have your GMC running really great! What speed can you comfortably travel on highway? Ours seems to vibrate when doing 65. 55 is perfect but anything more not so great. I have had balance done and can't seem to find issue.

      @TheWolfeFam  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

John Mallozzi I keep it around 60-65. We don't have any vibrations and you shouldn't either. Maybe the alignment is off? Maybe old steel wheels that are out of round and balance? It should drive like a Cadillac!

Check the pins at the bottom of the rear suspension they allow the wheels to divert from center if they're worn

Where is the amazing GMC farm?????

    • @TheWolfeFam

It's Applied GMC in San Francisco, CA. I think most of those are awaiting repair. Applied GMC supplies anything and everything for these motorhomes.
