- In this video I open the package that just arrived with my Parker 61. I take a closer look at the pen and I am little surprised at what i got. I had to clean the pen, but after a few days I came back and you also see the writing sample that I did with Parker Quink.
Nice video! Very nice commentary on the pen
Welcome to the Parker 61 ownership club! Great review!
I have several Parker 61's. Just a fantastic fountain pen that is very affordable in our current market. The 61's nib is as good, or even better, than the Parker 51's I also own. I also like the arrow which visually assists in placing the nib in the correct writing position. However, be really careful when cleaning the Parker 61, as the arrow easily dislodges from it's setting. This has happened to me on two of ten 61's placed active use. Fortunately, I found both arrows as they separated and refitted them to their pens (using a very light touch of clear nail polish where the arrow sits). My solution to the cleaning problem is to have more than one Parker 61 in active use and fully dedicating each to one of three Quink inks. I also have a bulb syringe that I have modified for cleaning Parker 61's (and works for other pens also) by cutting off the end so it fits with the capillary filler.
Note that the capillary filler is pink on the end away from the nib when in an unused (pristine) state - I have two that remain in that condition for now. I look for that when I see Parker 61 fountain pens for sale. It is rare but well worth the effort to find.
Awesome, thanks for the info. I must say, it writes incredibly well. And I will be keeping an eye our for more of them.
Tail Cosmo 😂
We used similar pens called Hero in our childhood
I have some Hero pens as well, they are quite nice
I don't know... I am very suspicious if it's genuine... Look for signs of time wherever you can in that box, etc.
Btw, what breed is cosmo?
The pen is genuine, but it was the wrong box. It writes beautifully. Cosmo is a Ragdoll...
