I get the Jesus meme but I just hope no one overlooks Asahi as a fully fleshed out character beyond the “big baby gentle giant died for our sins” stereotype. He’s not just a gentle giant, he’s a badass and also Kurasano’s top offensive scorer with a wicked spike. He has the capacity to be a tough guy but doesn’t usually flex those muscles unless he finds it really necessary. Being kind is not a weakness, it’s a strength. And even with that in mind, Asahi absolutely has fire in his eyes (we’ve seen it on multiple occasions) and still wants to be the ace Kurasuno needs! He inspires Hinata from the beginning and is still fearsome on the court, even if he’s less assertive in real life. Love this man for everything he is 💪🏐
onlyonezenn A little unrelated thought. If I remember correctly, didn’t asahi say in some ep that he serves at around 80% of power to make sure the ball falls within the court? I always wondered whether he can rival ushijima in terms of spiking power. He seems to have a fairly muscular build, similar to ushijima but he always seems to be holding back.
