To all people who are looking for long-lasting silk press, it is best to begin by thoroughly shampooing and conditioning your hair with salon professional products. Most shampoos and conditioners that are found at Walmart or Target have sulfates, parabens and silicones inside of it. Based on your hair type, it is best to use a deep conditioner to thoroughly hydrate your hair. Implementing heat with the deep conditioner will allow it to penetrate into the hair. Next, it is best to towel dry the hair and section it into four quadrants. Generously spray the Color Wow Extra Strength product onto each section of hair. The error that this TH-camr made was using a hand-held blowdryer. Since she did not take one inch sections of the hair and use tension, the hair had a puffy appearance in the end. It is best to use a boar bristle brush and a blowdryer with a nozzle to get your hair semi-straight. Next, you should use a salon professional flat iron with ceramic plates which will not burn the hair. While flat ironing textured hair, specifically, it is best to use the chase method with a heat resistant comb to ensure that the hair is straight from roots to ends. Lastly, it is strongly recommending not to use anything else with the Color Wow Extra Strength product. Any other product will compromise the finished look.
Yes if you saturate like that it's going to build up like any product you don't need to drench your hair with this product to get results cause my hair has never been hard after using less is more😉
They need to start formulating and designing hair products like this for 4c hair FIRST! Because we know if it works on the kinkiest curliest hair types, then it’ll work on all black hair. And then formulate from there for other hair types!
😂😂😂😂 wow, y’all ain’t playing in Texas. I live in GA and I go curly natural all summer….it is a waste of time to straighten….but imma try this before the winter is done and see.
We experienced Austin Heat in June and July, in New York. Please. Take it back. It was so hot this summer I didn’t go out much this summer. It was miserably humid this summer.
So glad you made that comment. I thought I was doing something wrong. I'm in Dallas and I don't believe there is anything in the world that can defy this humidity.
Hmmmm, I think it performed well. I have a similar facial steamer and I know a silk press w/o that product would have frizzed in a split second. Bc you held it close to your hair for some time and it just puffed up-I think it performed very well. Now bc your hair felt dry and that sticky residue is why I’d give it a no.
I appreciate you keeping it real. I have used the regular color wow for blow dry and the curly. The straight is a no go for me. By the time I finished blow drying my hair the other side poofed up. The curly is definitely better for my coily hair.
black women have been looking for the perfect product for over 60 years that keeps the hair from reverting and black women still don't have it. Nothing seems to work like we think it should.
Hey hey, sis! Loved the transparency. ❤ Also, I was in Texas last week. Simply from sitting outside for 5 minutes, I was sweating bullets and I could hardly breathe.
We appreciate you keeping it real with us and trying this out. I don’t think I’d get the extra strength just because it’s not that different and has all those white flakes. I’ll keep using the regular one!… also we definitely would love a wear test lol
The other one is just the same. Thanks so much for your honesty. What is needed is a touch of whatever chi does to the hair to make it silky soft. That balance slip. You're right the original I will continue with that. ❤
Honestly, im sold. You put a full on steamer right up to your hair for a minute and all you got was a bit of frizz, barely noticeable frizz. Now, imagine a that steam split up into a week. I think it will hold up just fine. Try doing a video where you use it for a week and show how your style holds up, im thinking that'd be more accurate because this video, imo, is showing me that this Extra Strength one isn't that bad 🤷
I used it on my daughter hair she has the same hair texture as yours, it did feel stiff after blow drying and is had the white stuff in my blow dry comb, her hair did frizz up the next day but not as much as it would have without the product. I will try it again but next time with a round brush an she how it works.
You could do Wear test on both WOW coast side by side it would be awesome to see if there is any difference. I’m just about to order one but now not sure if worth it as normal one is in better price
Thank you sooo much, bcuz I was on the verge of buying this product but my spirit stopped me doing so, and watching your demonstration makes me think my spirit was right in deterring me. I love what you said at the end about the Chris fella doing your hair😃
Don’t get either. SAVE YOUR COINS.. went through a whole bottle and each time “I said maybe this time it’ll work “ If your hair is already regularly straightened then maybe but if your hair doesn’t last long when straightened normally this will not make a difference.
Humm...I wonder if when you finished blow drying or after flat ironing, hitting your hair with a cold shot from the blow dryer to close the cuticle back up would have helped it.
I love your honesty! I bought the original wow and only used it once because it made my hair stiff and low key crunchy. I think if you do a harder blow dry , you won't need such a high temp on your flat iron, or so many passes and will get better results. Try a denum brush when you blow dry and you should only need 1 pass at like 450, trust me 😊
Appreciate your honest review!! Thanks for taking one for us with your silk press🤣. That was scary to watch. Nope not risking it. Stay blessed my friend....
Hey Crystal love your videos ! 🌸✨ ❤. I’m a professional hair stylist , just saw this vid when I was looking for a review for the Extra strength . I think the residue was probably because of using too much of product ( almost similar to pilling of the products on skin ) . Maybe lesser should help . Are you still using this on a regular basis , would love to know your thoughts after using it for a while . I have the Dream coat and love it for myself and clients .
Important to use tension while blow-drying, and to put the product in towel dry hair in sections. Don't use on dry hair, use schampoo and conditioner and towel dry, use tension. Works wonders on my super dry brittle hair.
I was supposed to bring my son to Morgan’s Wonderland in Austin. My hair she ain’t prepared lol I just watched your video on this last year and I have the original formula on its way to me. So I have fine hair. Do you think the original formula is sufficient for me? It sounds like you may be using too much product. I’d love to see you redo it in the future using less product and seeing how your hair feels, if it stays straight for long etc
Oooh the next instalment of this series lol. Needed this. Have you tried the Dream Coat “For Curly Hair”? That’s the one I thought you were trying for a sec
I have the exact curl pattern as you. What is your hair type? I know it's Type 4. But is it A, B, OR C? Also, how do you keep from getting that burnt smell when flat ironing?
js bought it nd we’re gonna see how this goes for me. i’ve been wanting it for months, ever since i found out it existed, nd i’m soooo excited to try it out tn.
i also have very dense hair and it frizzes up so fast esp bc it’s not “heat trained” and i live in michigan and it’s VERYYYYYY humid here, even in the winter. i also have to perform at my pep assembly tmr so we’ll rlly be able to test it bc i sweat A LOT, esp for this dance.
Help!!!!!! I have natural hair, however, when I press it, the press does not stay long it starts to go back to its natural state. How can I rectify this problem?
I wanna try this again. It left my hair so sticky . I use to use the hair alchemist sleek spry and it was so good. But it was discontinued 😢 I was hoping this would replace it for me but I’m so confused on the stinky residue
I have been using beautiful textures anti reversion system that is supposed to wash out after many shampoos. I just hate the smell. I thought wow would be good, since i dont have to do a whole thing. I wonder if you should only shampoo your hair since that’s how Beautiful textures works. When following the directions, my hair is relentlessly straight and when in contact with enough moisture, it might frizz and curl a bit, but will dry and would straighten mostly on it’s own. I was wondering if this is similar to what would happen with WOW. I did notice afterwhile your hair looked to mostly straighten again after the spray. Ive seen in another review that more on coily hair, the more heat may make it more resistant. She felt It did so for her.
This is the video I honestly needed.. as a Florida girl the humidity is killer my hair poofs in 5 mins outside 🙃 I already spent my money on this so I'm gonna try it out still and give my update later..😅
Last time you used the olaplex 9 and turn the heat up on the flat iron as well. I know you weren't supposed to but maybe that's why it seemed to work so much better last time.
I so appreciate your demo. I’m a recently converted strait natural and cut my hair in a blunt bob in the middle of NC summer 🙃 I’m not sure what I was thinking lol. But honestly pair this product with all the other measures we take to protect our hair from moisture I think it’s a good investment.
Your hair is so gorgeous!😊 it looks like my thickness and a quick note if you get a good trim for the thin end it'll have your hair look a whole lot thicker. My hair Journey this year as I navigate from relaxed to Natural is health over length.
They designed a product for coily hair that can only protect up to 380 degrees. Sounds like they need some diversity in the development meetings… also I think the sticky residue and hard/stiff feeling of your hair was from using waaaaaay too much product.
The product review video is just as beautiful as the silk press you've given yourself, Ma'am. I might be a man but I still do enjoy watching beautiful videos like this.
I don't think it's for our hair type to be honest. When you showed us all that white sticky residue in your dryer brush, I knew then it's not for us. You saved me from wasting my money. Thanks for the review.

OOOh! Thanks for the tips!
thank you!
THANK YOU!
What is the name of the products that you suggest, to use?
Would love a demo! Do you have a page we could visit?
To go through the straightening process and have the courage to literally test the waters feels like an act of bravery. 🤣
Do you think the sticky residue is because of how much product was used?
I was thinking the same thing. It’s “extra strength “ so I don’t think you would need so much
Totally used a lot of product. Ijs
Yep
Yes if you saturate like that it's going to build up like any product you don't need to drench your hair with this product to get results cause my hair has never been hard after using less is more😉

AND we contribute the most coin! 😬
😆
@@tlock77 that too!!
FACTS!!!!
That's stupid. If it works on 4c it does not make suitable for every hair type.
You're delusional.
@@tlock77how do figure that out?
Amika anti-humidity spray works for me and it smells good I just apply after straightening 😊
Thank you for your sacrifice in giving us a true review. You’re a real one.
Oh I also think yes there was a little frizz toward the ends with the steamer BUT it’s still pretty darn good
Silk anything in this Austin heat is a level of commitment that is unmatched.
Right, braids all summer. Not even playing with myself.
Shoot. After Texas Summer heat comes Texas Fall rain!
😂😂😂😂 wow, y’all ain’t playing in Texas. I live in GA and I go curly natural all summer….it is a waste of time to straighten….but imma try this before the winter is done and see.

I've never clicked on a video as fast as I did just now😂😂
Love to hear it!!😂
Lmfaoooooooooooo girlllllllllll me too. Straight from ig😂😂😂😂😂😂
I knoooow, I've been waiting for this 😅
Me ! My hair is a soft half curly afro by the time I walk outside. 😂
Saaaaaaaame!!! Like, ok what it do for the brown gurlz?
Do you not do the comb chase method when you flat iron? It’s life changing
Love that you put it to the Real steam test. Science honey!
Hey hey, sis! Loved the transparency. ❤ Also, I was in Texas last week. Simply from sitting outside for 5 minutes, I was sweating bullets and I could hardly breathe.
It’s unbearable 😭😭
@CurlieCrys I'm in SATX...I stay in until 845p!👍🏽
We appreciate you keeping it real with us and trying this out. I don’t think I’d get the extra strength just because it’s not that different and has all those white flakes. I’ll keep using the regular one!… also we definitely would love a wear test lol
I didn’t get any white flakes so I wonder what it is
Yess Crys give us a wear test‼️🥰 A regular day out and about 👌🏽
Yes, one side definitely did get frizzy. By day 2, my hair at that point would start reverting so I would do a ponytail until I wash my hair again.
I like the little frizz, it has a natural look! And you have really healthy, beautiful hair!
What about leave-in-conditioner, blow out heat protector, then heat protector before flat ironing? Should we skip those?
The other one is just the same. Thanks so much for your honesty. What is needed is a touch of whatever chi does to the hair to make it silky soft. That balance slip. You're right the original I will continue with that. ❤
Thank you for your honest review!!!! We need something made for US!!!!
When I apply the color wow I put my hair in wave formers and sit under the dryer, it still gets activated!
Lovedddd your honesty!!!!!!
Honestly, im sold. You put a full on steamer right up to your hair for a minute and all you got was a bit of frizz, barely noticeable frizz. Now, imagine a that steam split up into a week. Does it all come out when you wash your hair?
Girl thx for doing that demo for us all😂😂😂😂 hair on fleek🔥🔥🔥
How well did your curls bounce back after it was washed?
I used it on my daughter hair she has the same hair texture as yours, it did feel stiff after blow drying and is had the white stuff in my blow dry comb, her hair did frizz up the next day but not as much as it would have without the product. I need a frizz proof product for this NOLA humidity 😩😩😩
See!! This is why we love you Good Sis!! I’m a curly hair girl on my way home to NOLA!! I guess I’ll stick to the curls for this trip🤣
Thank you sooo much, bcuz I was on the verge of buying this product but my spirit stopped me doing so, and watching your demonstration makes me think my spirit was right in deterring me.

Yeah, worth a try even with the original one, just to help it out even more maybe.

If this product can stand up to this Tennessee heat I’m sold😆 I swear the whole south feels like it's baking
Yea sis…the REAL test is how your hair holds up outside in that heat for a full day!
Appreciate your honest review!! Thanks for taking one for us with your silk press🤣. That was scary to watch. Nope not risking it. Stay blessed my friend....
I saw a demo where the lady, after she flat ironed, applied a small amount of serum and blowdried her hair a second time. It looked very nice.
Hey Crystal love your videos ! 🌸✨ ❤.

Don't know if I would have done that. Thank you, Queen for this. You are beautiful. ❤❤❤
I loved the honest review! Question where did you buy the blow dryer, I would like to check it out.
@curliecrys_ Hey! Okay great, sounds good.
I was supposed to bring my son to Morgan’s Wonderland in Austin. My hair she ain’t prepared lol

I used the Original Wow and I found it drying and I still had frizz….my hair was very dry too girl!
I wonder if this can be used with a Rev air dryer
Love your review. 😊 I got the travel size for to test. Now I’m thinking I might take it back for something else. Not sure yet😅.
I have the exact curl pattern as you. What is your hair type? I know it's Type 4. But is it A, B, OR C? Also, how do you keep from getting that burnt smell when flat ironing?

Do you spray when your hair is wet? And then blow dry?
Can you share the brand of your hair dryer? Thanks!
This was soooo helpful! I live in Austin,Tx too and struggle with the humidity here. This video just saved me $32😂thanks
So what does “not revert back to curly” mean? Like ever! lol if not water will shampooing it make it go back curly?
Help!!!!!! I have natural hair, however, when I press it, the press does not stay long it starts to go back to its natural state. How can I rectify this problem?
Is it a heat protector as well?
I wanna try this again. It left my hair so sticky . I use to use the hair alchemist sleek spry and it was so good. But it was discontinued 😢 I was hoping this would replace it for me but I’m so confused on the stinky residue
Thank you for this experiment! Getting to the truth! 😊
For you to have humidity directly on it, I think the product worked well
can't believe you did this , giving anything for the girls 🙏
I have been using beautiful textures anti reversion system that is supposed to wash out after many shampoos. I just hate the smell. I thought wow would be good, since i dont have to do a whole thing. how is it?? i just convinced my parents to buy me it bc my blowouts never last more than half a day. pls pls lemme know an honest review!
👀
How'd it go?
Girl we waiting 😅
I just moved to florida and I'm STRUGGLING, please update
I use the regular WOW on wet hair, put John Frieda Frizz Ease on then blow dry it…
I noticed the dryness, sticky and stiffness when I used it too

❤❤ ❤thank you for this I have never even herd of this I’m excited to try the original
Protects up to 380 and I straighten my hair on 450 so I need to add heat protectant.
Thanks for the review. Yes please a normal test wear.
You’re stunning ❤
Your hair is so gorgeous!😊 it looks like my thickness and a quick note if you get a good trim for the thin end it'll have your hair look a whole lot thicker. My hair Journey this year as I navigate from relaxed to Natural is health over length.
You are so brave. Thanks for the ❤
Oh SH💩T! Its like a "Rain-X" for our hair!!?? Niceeee... I have to try it
Thank you! I was just about to buy it!!! I don’t want that cloudy foam that I saw in the blow dryer.
When you pulled that steamer out I screamed LOL!!!😂
Thanks for sharing sis 🙏🏾💜💐🙋🏾♀️🙂
Girl your always keeping it real love you from Jamaica 😊❤
I just moved to Spain and a girl has been strugglingggggg with the humidity. hopefully this will work
Thanks for sharing! ❤️ And, your hair still looks nice, Sis!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🖤This review right on time about to get micro links and tape ins
Try it with your Dyson straighter
Awww Mannn!!! I had high hopes for this. This menopause (hot flashes) kickin' my behind. I might have to go back to the creamy crack!
It came out looking amazing 👍🏾👏🏾🤗❤️
I feel like if you did the chase method it probably would have came out even better ❤
Same my hair was frizzy so quickly after using it.
It looks frizzy before the steam to me. Maybe it’s how the ends are trimmed?
I 100000% need a trim!
They designed a product for coily hair that can only protect up to 380 degrees. Sounds like they need some diversity in the development meetings… also I think the sticky residue and hard/stiff feeling of your hair was from using waaaaaay too much product.
Can you do a how to for your scrunchie high ponytail
I would love to see how it works if you wear your hair straight for a while.
The product review video is just as beautiful as the silk press you've given yourself, Ma'am. I might be a man but I still do enjoy watching beautiful videos like this.
I have 4c and I tried WOW and it didn’t work that well and the feel was yucky. Glad it wasn’t me.
Dammit, why didnt I look up your video b4 buying this??!!?? Especially since I wasn't thrilled with the regular one. 😭😭😭
I don't think it's for our hair type to be honest. When you showed us all that white sticky residue in your dryer brush, I knew then it's not for us. You saved me from wasting my money. Thanks for the review.
I appreciate the honesty!! I have extremely frizzy hair and I need some relief 😭
I don't see much difference between the two products. But you do have a great looking flatiron! 👍👍👍👍👍
As a stylist for All hair typea i agree
Hey, good sis! Yes, a wear test, please ❤
I think maybe using to much product I’m going to try but I m going use a little maybe 2-3 sprays on an entire section
