Bravo!!!
Hermoso.
👏
Bravo!
j'arrive
Can anybody tell me what the instrument is second from the right?
It's a Wagner Tuba
@@trptplyr89 Thanks so much
I agree it looks like a Wagner Tuba, but I believe it's a Bb Tenorhorn (trombone-sized mouthpiece, usually played by a trombonist), which is what that part in the Ewald was originally written for. Most quintets use a trombone on that part.
@@frankmanola3443 Thanks for the extra info. I can see the differences now (also, Wagner tubas seem to be played with the left hand like a horn, from what I can find on the net, so it definitely can't be a wager tuba I suppose?)
Do you know if this is essentially the same as the standard British brass band baritone horn, but just with a differently stylised wrap and rotary valves instead of pistons? Or maybe it is more similar to the euphonimn? Or perhaps the bore is different altogether? If you have more info, I would be very excited to understand more
Ty Quinn: A British brass band tenor horn is smaller, pitched in Eb, and is called an “alto horn” in other parts of the world (e.g., “alto horn” in the US, “althorn” in Germany). They come in different shapes, one of them being an oval form like the Bb tenor horn here, only smaller. The original Ewald horn part was written for an Eb alto, rather than the French horn usually used.
