Hey, great video but you either forgot an artist or misattributed something. The thumbnail art(at the time of my viewing) and first picture of the video is by Clyde Caldwell for a magic card and is copyrighted by him and WOTC. Just an FYI.
Strictly a narration of the Rhiannon portion of the Mabinogi. Accompanied y various images to somewhat illustrate the text. Subtitles would help a newbie to follow the plot and all the many names - unfamiliar to the first time reader.
What an interesting story! Otherworldly and dimensional 'magic' and beings... Perhaps from other planets.. Or dimensions... Things slipping in and then out from another realm.
The song Rhiannon is about a witch. Stevie just saw the name in a book & thought it was beautiful & wanted to make her a strong powerful witch. The goddess Rhiannon & the song Rhiannon have nothing to do with each other. My name is Rhiannon btw, ive done a lot of research on my name lol
lcowles Well Stevie wrote the song after reading the name in a book not related to the mythology. She only found out later about the mythology of the goddess
lcowles maybe she didnt give a shit and she wrote a song on a name alone? Also you have to remember the internet didnt exist yet when she said that... there was no easy way to verify anything like this. It was easier to just take whatever people told you for face value.
Stevie was inspired by the name itself after reading a book titled, "Triad: A Novel of the Supernatural" written by Mary Bartlett Leader in 1972/73. A story about two young cousins, one nice, Bronwen & one nasty, Rhiannon who treated her cousin badly. Bronwen accidentally kills Rhiannon and years latter her guilt manifests as Rhiannon haunting her but in reality it's mental issues related to becoming a split personality. The song, except for the name, has nothing to do with the story in the book.

Ayyy it's krosan restorer in the thumbnail. I knew I recognized it
She rings like a bell through the night, and would you love to love her
This is a story about an old Welsh witch.
No it's not
Árón de Siún I’m pretty sure the one Stevie was talking about was just named after Rhiannon, but sole witches do believe in Rhiannon
I love that he opens the video with how her name is pronounced. I was wondering that when i saw the title
Isn’t that a Magic card art?
Everyone saying Pwyll sounds like ‘Pwuth’ or ‘Pwush’ are incorrect. The LL in Welsh is pronounced like a cat hissing. Google translate and listen to it in Welsh to get the right sound guys 😊
Dreams unwind loves a state of mind
Uhh I love this?! Just someone telling a story
hey hun, the mabinogian is said like.. mab-in-ogg-e-on like fog .. its not like gil.
Hey, great video but you either forgot an artist or misattributed something. The thumbnail art(at the time of my viewing) and first picture of the video is by Clyde Caldwell for a magic card and is copyrighted by him and WOTC. Just an FYI.
Ah thank you. Sometimes it can be tricky to track down sources.
And here I was thinking it was just a name in a song
@2:00
"There walks a lady we all know,
Who shines white light, and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold"
I look for this town with the rolling hills that is one acre with a stable and a black smith
I would love more of this
Strictly a narration of the Rhiannon portion of the Mabinogi. Accompanied y various images to somewhat illustrate the text. Subtitles would help a newbie to follow the plot and all the many names - unfamiliar to the first time reader.
You can just turn on captions, TH-cam has that option
This is a fantastic story. Love it!
What an interesting story! Otherworldly and dimensional 'magic' and beings... Perhaps from other planets.. Or dimensions...
Things slipping in and then out from another realm.
The song made Rhiannon a villain, when she really isn't... Mostly
I see the song about a free spirit.
Did you say Gwent? *pulls out deck*
There is a place called Gwent in south wales
Pwyll is pretty much pronounced Puth, not quite, but it's the closest I can come up with.
Nicely related nevertheless 😂
This is the extension of eden meru,
(And the story of ragnarok), it is more true than most people know...
Anyone make a Stevie Nicks joke yet?
No, but it's interesting to know Rhiannon isn't a Welsh witch, as Stevie Nicks used to say. Don't know where she got that.
H3: Too many drugs. That's probably where Stevie Nicks got the notion Rhiannon being a witch.
lcowles Well Stevie wrote the song after reading the name in a book not related to the mythology.
So relieved that this ended happily :)
Who here clicked on this because of the song? I know I did. I learned something along the way. Great vid.
When Pwyll came to shove, he is your bro!
Cirilla Fiona Ellen Rhiannon
Nice. "Siri, find Ciri!"
Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nick may have seen this kind of painting when she wrote the lyrics of Rhiannon.
Love the pictures, and the story teller 🤩
But where is this other world ??
The otherworld is called Anwyn, and it was underground but there were entrances in a welsh forest, according to the book. It's ruler is called Arawn.
Ulster. It's fecking Ulster!
Thanks
Slainte!
The upside-down, where trees are placed upside down .... stranger things...
Neato! The algorithm doing good by me ☺️ one story pls ☝️🐹
I like the images. So enjoyable!
i loved the story, but the cc left alot to be desired. there must have been 5or 6 ways of pwyll and rhiannon was spelled at least 3 or 4 different ways. but thank you any way
Once in a million years a lady like her rises .dreams unwind
"Able to walk before he was a year old"? A lot of kids can do that. :D
Right I was thinking that my daughter was walking at 9 months lol
